I've been waiting on Cam and Maggie's story. They were always these characters in the background of previous books and we knew there was something there, so why weren't they a thing?? I had to know where their tension stemmed from. We finally get our answers in book 5 of the lovable O'Callaghan series.

Kristen Proby knows how to create a series with likable characters and where the family is at the center of everything. I've loved all the O'Callaghan siblings, their parents, and the connections they have with the other "With Me" series. They make you want to be a part of their family. And we definitely still got this in Take A Chance With Me, but it just didn't have me loving the story. It fell a little flat. And that just may be me. I anticipated so much more and felt like I only got a portion of what this couple was.

Maggie and Cameron have been a part of each other's lives since childhood. Cam was Maggie's brother's friend growing up and became a part of their family when his family was less than desirable. Cam has a job that he can't talk about and he is overall pretty secretive, but just wants to take care of Maggie and all those around him. He's alpha in all the right ways.
Maggie on the other hand grew up with an amazing family, but is coming off the recent death of her husband who was an all around horrible person in general. Maggie wants to close that portion of her life and move on, but secrets of his life keep popping up, deterring Maggie from moving on.

I've loved these characters in past books and I still enjoyed them in this book. I just wanted more. It seemed to just develop fast. Once they committed to being with one another, they were with each other. Really no conflict and a somewhat easy relationship. I liked the ease of their relationship, but I wish there was more. More to it developing. More details surrounding her husband and his past and more of Cameron and his secret job that led him to Maggie and her husband.

With a that all said, I enjoyed Maggie and Cam's HEA, the visits of all the past characters and the epilogue from her dad. How sweet was that? And the narrators did a great job of portraying our characters. They were fun, got the accents right and brought these two characters to life. A good ending to a series, but didn't hit quite the same way as the previous books. 3.5 stars.

Good narrators, ok story. Loved the epilogue

I have loved the With Me in Seattle series from Kristen Proby and this is a continuation of that series with side characters and the extended family and friends. I do love seeing and hearing about characters from past books that tie everything together and bring a sense of comfort and familiarity. This is an age gap, friends to lovers story with a touch of mystery, intrigue and a long overdue restart of Maggie’s life after a disastrous marriage. Cameron is the sexy older man who has been a family friend for years, but has a mysterious job and didn’t stay in town long enough to start a relationship with Maggie, the girl he always loved. John Hartley and Kirsten Leigh are fantastic and bring this story to life perfectly. This can easily be enjoyed as a stand alone, but I highly recommend starting at the very beginning of the With Me series. You won’t be sorry!

Another great Addition to the series

It feels like I've waited forever for Cam & Maggie's book and now that it's here, I don't want it to end. These two have been destined to be together and it's so bittersweet. I hate that Maggie had to endure what she did, I hate that Cam and Maggie spent so much time apart, but I love how easily and effortlessly Cam loved Maggie. He made her feel everything she hadn't felt before and he did in a way that made her feel cherished. Maggie finally getting everything she deserves was the absolute best ending I could've asked for ❤

Phenomenal series finale

FINALLY!!! I had fallen in love with Mary Margaret, aka Maggie in the O’Callaghan siblings books and am so glad she finally got her own story with none other than Cameron Cox who is Kane’s best friend! Kristen gave these two a completely gratifying story that is well written and answers so many questions we’ve had about these 2 over the series!! If you’ve been following along with the O’Callaghan books in the With Me series than you know there is a history with Cameron and Maggie. I HIGHLY recommend at least reading Dream With Me before this book as it gives a lot of background information on Maggie’s past marriage that carries over into this book.

There is so much I want to say but this book is one that uncovers so much that I don’t want to spoil any piece of it! It answers so many questions we’ve had about Maggie, her marriage with Joey Lemon and of course about Cameron. We see these 2 finally get the sweet and sexy relationship that we’ve all been pining for! Of course there are shocks and twists along the way that will keep you guessing and engaged in this storyline! The PERFECT culminating book for the O’Callaghan siblings!

Kirsten Leigh and John Hartley did an incredible job narrating this book! They brought all of the intense feelings of Maggie and Cameron to life and made me feel all the emotions they go through! Fantastic performance!!

A completely satisfying story for Maggie and Cameron!!!

If you are anything like me, you have been following the O'Callaghans since book 1, and waiting for Cam and Maggie's story just as long. This story could be considered instalove as a stand along, but their love is anything but instant, it has been growing and teasing the reader and taunting the characters for 4 books. I started to worry these two would get together. The story is low angst, but high romance. Cam helps empower Maggie in reclaiming the rest of her life and finding the last pieces of her true self. This book gave me all the warm fuzzy feelings. It was like sinking into a hot bath with a glass of wine and some chocolate covered strawberries. It was so worth the wait and I know this will be a couple I revisit for future rereads.

Kirsten Leigh is a perfect Maggie, her narration and accent work was on point and extremely enjoyable to listen too. John Hartley was a really good Cam, and his accent work was also very impressive. There were a few mispronounced words and audio glitches but the entire experience of listening to Cam and Maggie finally get their HEA was great!

High Romance, Low Angst, and Long Awaited
