Publisher's summary

Welcome to the world of Harmony, where—despite its name, things are anything but—danger lurks just beneath the surface in this new novel by New York Times bestselling author, Jayne Castle.

If there's something Ravenna Chastain knows, it's when to end things. And after she almost winds up the victim of a cult that believes she's a witch, it's easy to walk away from her dead-end career, ready for a new start. But where to find a job that would allow her to use her very specialized skill set? The answer is clear: she becomes a matchmaker.

But even a successful matchmaker can't find someone for everyone, and Ravenna considers Ethan Sweetwater her first professional failure. After nine failed dates, Ravenna knows it's time to cut Ethan loose. But Ethan refuses to be fired as a client—he needs one final date to a business function. Since Ravenna needs a date herself to a family event, they agree to a deal: she will be his (business) date if he will be her (fake) date to her grandparents' anniversary celebration.

What Ethan fails to mention is that attending the business function is a cover for some industrial espionage that he's doing as a favor to the new Illusion Town Guild boss. Ravenna is happy to help, but their relationship gets even more complicated when things heat up—the chemistry between them is explosive, as explosive as the danger that's stalking Ravenna. Lucky for her, Ethan isn't just an engineer—he's also a Sweetwater, and Sweetwaters are known for hunting down monsters...

Popcorn and Dust Bunnies

As always, Dust Bunnies make for smiles and save the day throughout a well written paranormal love story.

Getting Tired

The formula for these stories seems to be getting a little tired. Also, Barbara Rosenblat is a great narrator but not for these books.

Great

I love all of the Harmony novels. The imagination to come up with a whole new world and its customs, and inventions is wonderful. I see a lot of complaints about the narrator when reading the reviews. Barbara Rosenblat is a really good reader. I have heard many books read by her. Twenty years ago she had a lovely alto voice. Her voice now is a "whiskey voice". That can be caused by an accident to the vocal cords, or she caused it by smoking and drinking a lot of hard liquor. It makes it hard to tell whether the voice is male or female, and definitely sounds older. Yes, her voice doesn't sound like the heroine, but she is telling the story, not being the character.
I have (i hope) all of the Harmony novels and recommend them as light. entertaining and a pleasant way to pass the time.

Another Off-The-CHARTS PARANORMAL ROMANCE!

I can't remember how many years I've been reading Jayne's excellent romances. I think Ive probably read all of them in all of the different time & space periods. I love the interconnection with Jones & Jones, the Sweetwaters, the Chastains, the Guilds & especially the Dust Bunnies, among many other interrelated characters. There are so many different layers & interrelationships. I honestly hadn't realized how many & how detailed & complicated (in a good way) they really are until I wanted to play this audiobook in the car with my boyfriend & realized I had to stop the audiobook every couple of minutes to explain some background info.
I love all of her books and this one is just another one I can add to that collection. Please don't ever stop writing Jayne!!! Thank you for the many, many, many hours of enjoyment!

And I would like to mention how much I enjoy the narrator, Barbara Rosenblat. She has narrated some of my favorite series, from books by this author as well as others. Thank you for all of the excellent narration. Just as Jayne can never stop writing, you can never stop reading! And I say the same to you: Thank you for the many, many, many hours of enjoyment!

A fun exciting story!!

I throughly enjoyed this story. It was fun to see the two people worried about not getting hurt. So often in life if we take the worry out of the factor and just have a little faith things work out. I love that the female didn’t need to be rescued. She was strong enough to do that and more. The story hints about how female’s in the workplaces being thought less of. Woman so often are not appreciated for the jobs we do. But that can be said of either sex. We need to take the minute to say thank you. This is a good read love our dust bunnies.

HEA guaranteed and narrator gold

I can’t believe that I missed this coming out. Jayne Castle is my favorite of the author’s pseudonyms. First as paperbacks and then in audio. As someone else said, read one of the earlier ones like “Orchid” or “Zinnia” to get the full story building side.

The romance pattern is simple and spicy enough to be interesting. I’m boring I guess because I love glimpsing into a world where parapsychology talents are normal and little dust bunnies are staunch allies with their bonded person. I’ll take more of it all any time if it let’s me escape the crazy out in the real world.
Barbara Rosenblat is one talented actress and I just don’t get the hate. She’s like the Betty White of the audio world at least in my head. I have no idea what she is really like in real life. I enjoy her talent way too much to be disappointed if I were wrong.
Thank you both!
