Feeling sad and hollow now that it’s over

For the book:

I’ve read some comments that this was one of the boring books in the series. In a sense, I can understand where this comment came from. Survive is definitely not as action packed as the other books, but I really liked all the romantic and funny/warm hearted moments. It was a nice break from the Adrenalin I was feeling during the third book. The only con I can really think of is that the reading is so slow (as with the other books). I read it comfortably on the x1.2 speed.

The series:

I’m not sure where to begin with the Atlantis Grail series. I’m so blown away by the world building and detail. I feel like this world could be part of a D&D game. Because of this, I will be exploring all the fan fiction available on the internet.

The only cons I have are the reading speed and shuttle (not so important) details. I wish there was more romance between Aeson and Gwen during books 1 and 2. I already had a feeling they’d end up together, but it would have made me more happy to have more build up (not everyone as the time to read 1.5 books to get to the juicy love stuff). I’ve also come to appreciate book 2 more than I thought I would because it wasn’t as action packed as books 1 and 3. I liked the overall pace of it and even sped up the reading to read on more quickly. On that note, I read books 2, 3, and 4 basically on x1.2 speed and it was so much better than reading it on x1 speed. Otherwise, the performance was amazing. Sofia willingham really knows how to tell a story and to be honest, I have no idea how she managed to pronounce everything so seemingly authentically.

Now that I’m done with the series, I’m feeling that sort of reading depression that people fee after they’ve read a good book and don’t know what else to read. This series has made me feel so many things: happiness, warmth, grief, anger, awe, and love. I just want more!!!

Meh end of a Thrilling Series

Throughout the Atlantis Grail series Vera Nazarian has built a detailed, tangible world full of lovable characters and tight action. This outing puts the whole story connected to a strange discovery that ties everything together with a story of etherial twins separated in Earth's early history. Sort of a weird event to put everything on the line. Balance is restored but then what. Where I would want to hear more about how Gwen and family adapt to their new situation we get a fast forward of about 8 years with a paragraph devoted to each character. Where is the detail we love? These eight years are fodder for 4 more books, and you just feel a bit cheated.

Loved this series! Start with book 1, “Compete”.

This is an older YA series, including non-gratuitous descriptions of sex in the latter books of the series. Fair warning for those upset by such things, though the characters engaging in sexual actions were married, if that matters.
I loved this series. Only a few times did I drift off due to the length, but then I had to rewind and pick up what I’d missed, it was that good.
The story was original, well executed. It was fascinating to watch the characters grow up and mature through the series.
I wish there was just one more novel, to pick up the couple of thoughts that didn’t get tied up, and to explore the world building without constant danger to the characters.
The narration was excellent too.
By the time I was finished, I’d forgotten that I really wouldn’t be able to weave starlight, no matter how right and simple it seemed.

You’re literally transported to a new world

I love this book because Vera has such a unique way of painting the picture for her readers. I was fully immersed in every bit of drama, suspense, victory, loss, confusion and every other feeling expressed. This book is highly recommended for the wandering mind to have an epic adventure even while tackling everyday life. Five stars hands down.

What a finish!

K so I went through this entire series in just 2 weeks. I could t stop. I had to know what happened with Gwen, the Lark Family, earth, Atlantis… everything.
This final book did not disappoint.
One thing from the previous book I thought would become important was, which made me happy, but it was still done in a way I didn’t fully expect.

The only thing I didn’t like about this 4th book was that it ended. I finished honestly thrilled and satisfied, but wanting more. What happened with others, how do things progress… I could easily continue on with this world and these characters, and will likely revisit the series in a few years to engage again.

Until the , I can only say well done. All of it. The story, the depth, the characters. It was all engaging and entertaining. Everything you want in a book and a series!

Total let down.

I was on the edge of my seat for this entire series. And then this book absolutely ruined it with its ending — I’m going out of my way to retract all of the recommendations I’ve passed along.

Narrator was solid, though. I’d listen to her read the back of a cereal box.
