It was pretty okay.

Overall I enjoyed this series, but there were a few times I felt disappointed by the performance and writing. At times the narrator made the male characters sound a little silly, like it was obviously a woman trying to speak like a man, except not done as well as I've heard other women readers do it. Normally I'm not picky, but for some reason this made it difficult for me to take some of the story seriously. Also it was a little hard to relate to the main character at times due to the way she went back and forth in her mind between decisions. One minute she believed one person and the other minute she is completely swayed by something else totally forgetting the very real evidence right in front of her. This made it harder to like her as the main character because of this seeming lack of intelligence. But in the end, I enjoyed the series at least most of the time. The actual storyline is interesting and there's some good twists and turns in it.

Feels very rushed and forced

This story is like a very poor attempt at being grown up and mature by an 8 year old. It's very cliché and almost predictable and the character names seem like they were made up entirely or when the author couldn't come up with something semi-clever they just regurgitated the same name over rand over again. Narration is not great as all the characters sound the same. I've listened to a few female narrators and I'm spoiled to those who have the ability to change their pitch to reflect a more masculine voice when necessary and use their natural feminine voice for female characters within the story. This, I can't finish and I'm just out one credit. Next....

Its pretty good

Overall the books are pretty good. The biggest thing to me was that the main character was so back and fourth on who she believed to be true and what the truth was. She would have facts told to her then a few chapters later she acted as if she never learned the truth about things, It really didn't make sense. The story line was good but felt a little drawn out with the back and fourth.

Fantastic series

Akin to a hit movie, this series shows how much the human race and demand of one another. A great story with perfect narration allowed me to work 13 hour shifts with ease. Lost in the world of Geos and Rejs and Elites, this storyline left me wanting to see more of their lives in future books.

Enjoyed the series

I like audible and use it to fall asleep. I found myself backing it up, every evening, to listen to what I'd fallen asleep and missed. A little predictable.... but overall good story

Entertaining enough

I’ve never really felt the need to write a review before, but after listening to this series I felt I needed to.

Overall the story was a light, entertaining listen.

However, I’ve never read or listened to a book before with so many plot holes. I feel like the author didn’t take the time to really develop the world, characters, and plot before writing and editor of this series did not do their job properly. These mistakes made the characters seem ignorant at times, and just made the story not make sense at others.

I’m also not entirely sure if it was the way the men were written in the story or the narrator’s portrayal of the men that made them seem one-dimensional and/or unintelligent.

If this were a story a student of mine had written, I’d say, “good start, but take a look at these plot issues, do some more research on viruses, and spend some more time developing these characters.”

Great Story, mediocre writing.

first two are great and the plot is fantastic. the final book is drawn out and infuriating. the main character seems to regress in her thought process and actions instead of growing. It feels like the author needed to hit a specific word count so as soon as the conclusion is apparent, the main character changes her mind or makes a ridiculous move. This wouldn't be an issue if the added chapters contributed to the overall story but they don't. this happens at a minimum of 5 times. by the last few chapters you will have to skip ahead in order to remain entertained instead of irritated.

Engaging Dystopian YA novels

This storyline is incredibly creative! The main character Tylia is overall likable, intelligent, and entertaining. The story moves through the areas of the fictional worlds quite seamlessly, and the backstory for "how we got here" is genuinely believable. There's romance (pretty mild), adventure, and drama that is captivating and intriguing. I found myself wanting to learn more and more about this world. The ending is well- written and mostly believable, though I would've liked a little more depth and breadth here. There is a satisfying conclusion to the saga, but I wanted to know more about the future of the characters. The same narrator reads throughout, and her voice is well-designed for audiobooks, though at times she seemed a bit too flat to keep my attention. I did always go back though in order to finish the story. Overall I highly recommend this series to dystopian fans who prefer a more Young Adult flavor!
