On Friday, November 27, 2009, Tiger Woods’s life changed forever. His downfall would be one of the harshest ever witnessed.
On that night, while he was sleeping, his suspicious wife went through his phone and discovered he had been cheating on her. He woke up to her screaming and fled his house, barely dressed.
She ran after him with a golf club as he drove his car out of the driveway. He swerved and plowed into a tree in his neighbors’ yard, as his wife shattered the car windows. Once she realized he was unconscious, she called an ambulance.
Worldwide media was in shambles for the following weeks, trying to understand why Tiger Woods fled his home in the middle of the night and ended up in a car accident. The answers were complicated, and to understand them, it’s best to go back to the beginning.
