Publisher's summary

From the New York Times best-selling author of The Last House Guest - a Reese Witherspoon Book Club selection - comes a riveting, “suspenseful” (BookPage, starred review) novel about a mysterious murder in an idyllic and close-knit neighborhood.

Welcome to Hollow’s Edge, where you can find secrets, scandal, and a suspected killer - all on one street.

Hollow’s Edge use to be a quiet place. A private and idyllic neighborhood where neighbors dropped in on neighbors, celebrated graduation and holiday parties together, and looked out for one another. But then came the murder of Brandon and Fiona Truett. A year and a half later, Hollow’s Edge is simmering. The residents are trapped, unable to sell their homes, confronted daily by the empty Truett house, and suffocated by their trial testimonies that implicated one of their own. Ruby Fletcher. And now, Ruby’s back.

With her conviction overturned, Ruby waltzes right back to Hollow’s Edge, and into the home she shared with Harper Nash. Harper, five years older, has always treated Ruby like a wayward younger sister. But now she’s terrified. What possible good could come of Ruby returning to the scene of the crime? And how can she possibly turn her away, when she knows Ruby has nowhere to go?

Within days, suspicion spreads like a virus across Hollow’s Edge. It’s increasingly clear that not everyone told the truth about the night of the Truetts’ murders. And when Harper begins receiving threatening notes, she realizes she has to uncover the truth before someone else becomes the killer’s next victim.

Pulsating with suspense and with Megan Miranda’s trademark shocking twists, Such a Quiet Place is Megan Miranda’s best novel yet - a “powerful, paranoid thriller” (Booklist, starred review) that will keep you turning the pages late into the night.

Narration is like someone reading to a children's

Terrible narration. I am only about 20% into the story and I don't think I can stand anymore. The storyline so far is not very interesting or exciting. I do not recommend this book. It's a shame because i do like the author's other published books.

Such a Quiet Place

Tedious. This moved so slowly and the actions of the characters were so ridiculous. No one would behave this way. I wasted my money and my time.

Hate the narrator

The story is dragging and the narrator is awful. I usually live all of Megan’s books but nit living this one so far.

Boring

To long and boring. I struggled to stay awake. Will not purchase any more of the authors book. I do not know how to explain, you just lose interest in the story.

A total waste

I’m so disappointed. This was not a good book…at all. It’s like it was written too quickly. None of the story was fleshed out, didn’t really make sense and definitely wasn’t interesting.

Just alright

The end is pretty predictable and easy to guess from the first few chapters. Narration is great though.

Couldn't stop listening and kept me guessing!!

This is by far my favorite Megan Miranda book! Sometimes they're a bit slow but I felt this one kept up the pace beautiful. I loved the descriptive world that is Hollow's Edge. I felt like I could see every part of it. I felt as if I were there. She did an excellent job with the atmosphere. The story was interesting and kept my interest.

I LOVED Rebekkah Ross' narration.

As Entertaining as Listening to a Textbook

The same information continuously repeated. Boring characters. Boring story. I kept waiting for it to pick up but finally realized I’d wasted a credit preordering.

Meh

I was really looking forward to this book but it was barely mediocre. I theorized the ending from the beginning. The story dragged on. The characters were one dimensional and boring; even the crime was boring. There were no twists. I’m really disappointed. I love author, I just feel like she was missing creativity this time around.
