Resumen del Editor

Like the spellbinding psychological suspense in The Girl on the Train and Luckiest Girl Alive, Megan Miranda's novel is a nail-biting, breathtaking story about the disappearances of two young women - a decade apart - told in reverse.

It's been 10 years since Nicolette Farrell left her rural hometown after her best friend, Corinne, disappeared from Cooley Ridge without a trace. Back again to tie up loose ends and care for her ailing father, Nic is soon plunged into a shocking drama that reawakens Corinne's case and breaks open old wounds long since stitched.

The decade-old investigation focused on Nic; her brother, Daniel; her boyfriend, Tyler; and Corinne's boyfriend, Jackson. Since then only Nic has left Cooley Ridge. Daniel and his wife, Laura, are expecting a baby; Jackson works at the town bar; and Tyler is dating Annaleise Carter, Nic's younger neighbor and the group's alibi the night Corinne disappeared. Then, within days of Nic's return, Annaleise goes missing.

Told backward - day 15 to day 1 - from the time Annaleise goes missing, Nic works to unravel the truth about her younger neighbor's disappearance, revealing shocking truths about her friends, her family, and what really happened to Corinne that night 10 years ago.

Like nothing you've ever heard before, All the Missing Girls delivers in all the right ways. With twists and turns that lead down dark alleys and dead ends, you may think you're walking a familiar path, but then Megan Miranda turns it all upside down and inside out and leaves us wondering just how far we would be willing to go to protect those we love.

Reseñas de la Crítica

"Rebekkah Ross uses a coolly detached voice to narrate this spellbinding mystery.... Ross rhythmically builds and dissipates the story's tension and excels with descriptive details and subtle character differentiation. Her pace is unrelentingly steady yet captures the many changes in the various flawed characters. As the layers of this atmospheric mystery are peeled back, Ross subsumes herself into the story and engages listeners in discovering the truth of what happened." ( AudioFile)

Murder Mystery Cliche but Decent Ending

This murder mystery felt a bit cliche. Very formulaic in it's format. The timeline jumping around was a bit frustrating but not impossible to follow. While the story arc, characters and general themes were sort of predictable and played out, I was pleasantly surprised with the ending.

Painful narration

My friend raved about this book so I wad excited to listen. I read many reviews about how the characters were unlikable and I think it had a lot to do with the way it was read. I can't put my finger on what was so distasteful (vocal fry, perhaps?). I struggled to finish the book.

A bit confusing but good a good story

A friend recommended this as a break from my usual historical novels. I liked it - reminded me of Luckiest Girl Alive except much less gore.
The story is told out of order, which makes for an interesting POV & allows you to slowly pick apart the characters as how they fit into the plot.
I gave it 3 stars for performance, not really because I didn’t like the narrator, but I think I would have liked this book more if I read it myself.
But overall I liked it, would read more from this author in book form.

Loved it

And loved the backwards storytelling that a lot of people couldn't deal with. In reality it wasn't backwards; that was a gag, and you learn more as you move on as in any story. But at least this was creative; kept me guessing a little more. Don't let the direction of the narrative fool you; this is a very well done member of the genre and readers who get caught up by the "reverse" narrative need to step down their reading level. Nothing complicated about it. Engaging story that you can't wait to plough through (if you have 12th grade comprehension level I guess). Loved it.

Very sophomoric. Jumps around and hard to follow.

Tries too hard. Timeline jumps around too much. It's hard too keep up with the continuity of the story. I did like the actual plot but the way it's told is annoying. So tired of hearing the day before. The reader was just average.

Didn't live up to expectations

I knew the story was disjointed in the manner in which it was told (reminiscent of the movie "Memento"), but it still was challenging to follow. The story wasn't as compelling as it sounded like it would be.

Plodding and profane

The deal with the days in reverse was only confusing. The characters all had profane language when most of the time it wasn't necessary. Recommend this book to people under thirty.
