A great novel

This is the first novel of this author. It is a murder mystery and full of suspense. The some characters are easy to like and others easier to hate. The humor in the book is more the characters’ own traits rather than jokes. The narrator was very good and varied her presentation for each character.

Good a little slow.....

this is a fun story well written but it's just a little slow and very predictable

I wanted to love it but…

Nice but uneven little mystery. Slow pacing, would have benefited from some editing. When I started, I really liked it and became fond of the characters, flaws and all. But the author threw in casually fatphobic lines that were unnecessary and took me out of the story. A woman might talk about her ‘fat ass’ and it’s within character but ‘the toilet groaned under her weight’ is fatphobic and judgmental.

I don't know what to expect, but I like the Deadpool movies, so decided to go ahead and give it a try.
I found it interesting, keep me guessing the whole time and I appreciate that in murder mysteries!

Couldn’t stop listening

Very well written and intriguing. Left me wanting more. I found myself thinking about what was next for the characters in the story.

Thoroughly enjoyed the book. Often laugh-out-loud funny and engaging. Hope there'll be more books in the future.

Triggering if you're not ready for the racism

so far the only thing this book has accomplished is showing how racist the author is.

Diversity at its best

Wonderful book!! The characters are amusing and entertaining. The author weaves an awesome story that held my attention throughout. I laughed out loud at some of the incidental comments made by the characters. Hope there are more novels to follow!!

Incredibly funny

I don't have kids, don't live in a suburb, but... it's the attitude and humor I love about this book. It takes me back to NY. The narration is perfect.

Compelling and unique

Twisty and somewhat twisted story. A completely new perspective with flawed and interesting characters.
Loved Andrea and loved that she is presented as flawed as the other characters
