What does Billy Idol bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Billy tells his story, as he remembers it, and with all of the emotions involved with that! Many times, I felt as if I was listening to a friend tell me a story in their life.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed a lot while listening to this book. Billy has a very positive look back on his life. I did also cry. There were several parts of this book that touched me deeply.

Any additional comments?

This audio book was a gift from my husband. I'm so glad that he bought it for me! I really enjoyed listening to it! If you are even interested in learning a little bit about Billy Idol, I suggest you listen to it!

That voice!

I expected to get a great story if rock and roll excess and I got it. But I didn't expect Mr. Idol to be so charming. He's doesn't hold back about his bad behavior, but he's fundamentally a decent guy. He's also a talented performer with a beautiful, gritty voice, all used to full potential here.
Dancing with Myself is a compelling story that's beautifully read. It's well-crafted, but the read feels spontaneous and intimate.
Recommended to anyone interested in the making of a rock star and life in the studio and spotlight.

Spent the week with Billy

I loved that he read it himself. I felt like I spent some personal time with him. Very interesting guy!

Billy is my Idol.

I have the book, but having Billy himself read this book made it come alive. I could see in my mind the adventures that he went on. The emotion he brings to reading it is fantastic. I wish he narrate more books. I want to thank him for letting us into his world, and giving to us fans. Thank you Billy Idol!

Billy fu#%?! Idol!!!

I can not stress how much I appreciate when a star such as Billy Idol, takes the time to read to us his own biography. It’s so important to hear the artist narrate their history through their own experiences, in their own words and when you have a voice like Billy Idol, tell it the way it is. Nofx recently did this and it makes the experience all the more powerful. Dancing with myself is simply amazing, and I’m sure I’ll be listening to it again soon and when I do, I’ll put on some of Billy’s greatest hits and be dancing with myself. A must buy.
