Mick Fleetwood has been a member of the ever-evolving Fleetwood Mac, one of the world's most successful and adored bands, for over four decades. Here he tells the full and candid story of his life as one of music's greatest drummers and bandleaders, the cofounder of the deeply loved supergroup that bears his name and that of his bandmate and lifelong friend John McVie. In this intimate portrait of a life lived in music, Fleetwood vividly recalls his upbringing tapping along to every song playing on the radio, his experiences as a musician in '60s London, and the earliest permutation of the band featuring Peter Green.
Play On sheds new light on Fleetwood Mac's raucous history, describing the highs and lows of being in the band that Fleetwood was determined to keep together. Here he reflects on the creation of landmark albums such as Rumours and Tusk, the great loves of his life, and the many incredible and outrageous moments of recording, touring, and living with Fleetwood Mac. Fleetwood describes these moments with honesty and immediacy, taking us to the very heart of this multilayered journey that has always been anchored in music.
Through it all, from intense love to plaintive heartaches, from collaborations to confrontations, it's been the drive to play on that has prevailed. Now, then, and always, it's Fleetwood Mac.

Engaging story is strengthened and fueled by remarkably and enjoyably candid and honest self-appraisal by Mick Fleetwood. I particularly enjoyed his detailed account of his own life and the creation of the band’s magical songs and even more amazing dramas, of its symbiotic members who put their heart and soul into it’s success over and over again.
A great ‘read’and Mick’s soulful presence makes you feel as if you’re sitting in a room with him hearing the whole thing. Well done! 5 stars.

My brother told me to give it a chance because I love rock biographies. I am glad that I did because I really did enjoy the story Mick relays.
Likeable but inept

Would you listen to Play On again? Why?
I would recommend it. I generally don't read books twice.Who was your favorite character and why?
Mick, because he seems like a genuinely nice guy. I'd like to meet him one day. What does Martin Dew and Mick Fleetwood bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I feel like I was inside of the story. I could relate to all of the characters. No one was put down, all perspectives were considered, and talents highlighted. Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
NoAny additional comments?
Well written, and well read. However between chapters 9-14 I felt there was a bit too much of repetition of facts.Excellent and well read.
