At just 18, Paolo and Max meet at a conversion therapy camp. Abandoned by their families, left to endure literal hell on earth, their love is forbidden. Their secret romance grows, and as they make plans to escape, they are brutally torn apart.

They both spend the next 12 years building lives in different worlds. Paolo in the vibrant heart of Soho, London, surrounded by his found family, and Max thriving as a successful criminal lawyer in the bustling streets of New York. Both of them believing they’ve lost the love of their life forever.

Max finds himself in London after defending a mobster, which leads to an offer he literally can’t refuse. Needing thinking time before his fate is sealed, he unexpectedly crosses paths with Paolo again. The spark between them reignites, yet their reunion is fraught with challenges, and even the magical backdrop of the holidays may not be enough for them to get their second chance at love. With Paolo's sister at risk of suffering the same fate they endured, the stakes are even higher.

Stolen Dream is a tale of resilience, forbidden love, and the fight for a future that embraces who they truly are. Will they save Paolo's sister in time, and can they find a way to be together, against all odds? Join them on this emotional journey of hope and redemption, where stolen dreams may just lead to a love worth fighting for.

This was heartbreaking while also being lovely. First, I have to commend the author for not pulling punches with the conversion camp. These places are awful and yet still happening. I did love the beauty from darkness aspect of falling in love in a hell like that. I love that both guys have these beautiful found families. I thoroughly enjoy seeing that. This is the third in the series and I genuinely loved each book and can't wait for the next. The audio narration is so good. The love that the narrators had correct accents based in American vs English. It was perfect!

Stolen Dream is the third audiobook in Oliver Takely’s MM romance series, Soho Knights. First things first, check and recheck those triggers, because this one is beyond intense. This story revolves around Max and Paolo, who meet at eighteen under the absolute worst circumstances in a conversion camp In the United States. Although Paolo is from London, his parents had sent him oversees specifically for the camp, which is run by a degenerate priest who is pure evil. In my opinion, conversion therapy (which is actually not therapy at all) is pure evil, period. The two boys have an instant connection and provide much-needed support for one another. They find love in this most inhospitable environment, but when they’re discovered together, they are brutally torn apart with no real way to contact the other. Although living in different countries, they meet again in London twelve years later through mutual friends and get a second chance at love. Both are still traumatized by their time in the camp and are dealing with that in their own ways, but it’s clear those old feelings are still there. But despite being given a second chance, there are definitely obstacles they must overcome—distance, jobs, and family issues, to name a few. But together, they not only grow the love that started in the camp but help each other begin to heal from all they endured there. This story is as hopeful as it is heartbreaking and heavily features found family. It is also inspirational, gutting, witty, and downright swoony. It’s basically got everything required to get you into your feels and keep you there. I adored it, and I can’t wait for the next book in the series to release in audio!

The duet-style narration from Gregory Salinas and Tim Paige adds yet another other level of intensity and feeling to this already-incredible story. These two voice actors are unbelievably talented, and it definitely shows in this audio. Both completely inhabit their characters, bringing so much passion, despair, joy, rage, hope, and warmth to this audiobook. They bring this emotionally-charged story to life in all the best ways, making this a truly unforgettable listening experience.

Book #3 SoHo Knights series
Works as a standalone.

Max is a 30 yr old lawyer in the United States. He’s built up his life and friend group since he escaped the conversion camp 12 years ago. He’s still hung up on the guy he got torn away from at the camp.

Paolo is living in Europe with friends finally being mostly away from his parents but staying close to support his younger sister. He never got over Max and running into him at a friend group outing was never something he expected.

These two reconnect over the course of a few weeks. They share a traumatic shared experience and are finally getting their second chance.

Overall, this was an emotional roller coaster story that had me smiling in the end.

ALC REVIEW

Stolen Dream by @olivertakelyauthor

Narrated by @thevoiceoftimpaige and @voice.of.greg
Produced by @bluenoseaudio

I am so glad Tim Paige and Gregory Salinas narrated this together! Both narrators are amazing, and hearing them together was such a great experience! They both brought all the eomtions to life so well. And there were so many emotions in this book.

Max and Paoplo go through so much before finding their hea! I'm a sucker for any broken boy story and these boys are that. Having been put through horrible conversion therapy and then separated as teens, you just cant help but wish for them to find each other.

I loved Paolo and the way he sacrifices part of his own happiness to protect and make sure others are safe and happy.

Max was strong and steady. And that's what I loved the most about him.

This was my first book from Oliver Takely and I will definitely be circling back to read more!
