Publisher's summary

Imagine being the only human left on an Earth occupied by monsters, aliens, and worse. Sounds terrible? Well . . . it's not so bad when you are an introverted battle junkie like me.

Honestly, I was almost starting to appreciate being left behind while everyone else was given the chance to prepare for the mess Earth had gotten itself into. On a side note, it turns out I'm pretty good at hunting monsters. Though dragons and such are a bit out of my league. Just a bit.

I survived dozen-something kobolds that wanted me dead, and now it's time to pay back their leader. Unfortunately for the poor doggies, I have made some allies. Allies they're gonna hate.

There's just one tiny detail that bothers me. My talking cat companion is hiding something. Something big. Something that has the potential to make deadly monsters the least of my worries . . .

great story

it's a great story but, honestly I hate the MC he's such an immature pansy. he's 20 years old and still saying kitty and doggy and daddy. he cries and whines and has no balls to question people when he doesn't trust them. I had hoped in this book he would grow up a bit. I honestly don't know if I'll even bother with book three if it ever comes out. The truth is it's a shame because all the other aspect of the book are amazing. just can't stand an MC that is so immature.

I Don't Like It. (SPOILERS AHEAD)

The story's fine, narrator no problem. No the problem I have with the book is the what I consider excessive plot twist that disturbed even my calm as the reader.

To die for the only person you ever loved, and then be brought back as her little brother; which means you're taking away someone she loved as well. Then tie it in a bow with you're alternate reality/ future daughter having kept this from you and have hints that she killed you.
That's WAY too much for a final 10 minutes of a book, and frankly crushes my spirit. The dude died, then fought to live for someone, and you took that possibility and shat it into a black hole.
I like action, intrigue, fantasy, and all that go into a good book. But, I hate when you ruin a good romance.
I hope something good happens in the next installment because I personally don't like stories were the mc had nothing to look forward to and just struggles for the sake of it.

author does not know how to Pace books

we are two books in and I believe it is only the third or fourth day by the end of the next book we might be done with a week. but I'm guessing the next book's going to take place over like 2 hours. this would work fine as a mangwa but as a book it is going way too slow.

also the main character is not that likeable. his social Hang-Ups are just weird and do not come across how I think the author intended them to. also waiting for the last chapter to introduce actual character growth and a good plot is kind of a slap in the face the readers or in this case listeners..

in all actuality the first two books should have been merged into one and a lot of the filler to be cut out because this is not worth two credits together it would be barely worth one

terribly written

not only is the author long-winded but he has a horrible sense of storytelling don't waste your money on this one and to put a cherry on top of this the audio production wasn't done very well the audio is inconsistent

Slow and needy

The story is just slow. It’s has the feeling of just hanging there most of the time. Side characters are just an other tool to drag things out and add badly written emotional baggage. Seriously 2 books in a beginner dungeon(which he literally starts in) and most of the way through this one and he's only made it to the first floor.

Wow….

Honestly it was just disappointing. Minimal progression and a crappy twist at the end. It’s honestly a bit gross.

This guy is such a damn loser. I can't stand him.

He ask obvious questions. He doesn't ask the right questions. Trusts too easily. Is strangely cavalier about odd situations. While being utterly awkward and normal situations.

He's just an incredibly frustrating person. Plus he's whiny. Nobody likes a whiner.

Just when he starts to be able to strong together a sentence without stuttering, half his progress is taken away.

The only reason I stuck around was to see to see his reaction when she grew up. Unfortunately, it seems like that's going to be stretched over 19 books. At least if the pace so far it's anything to go from. He's on his like, 3rd day or so since this crap started. I also wanted to know why Celestapedia would let him see his cat forms appearance.

It bugged me a lot. But I can't take anymore of this. The only reason I even bought the second book of this Trainwreck of a series of because i had nothing better to read at the moment.
