Publisher's Summary

When you’re born without a trace, no one knows you’re a weapon.

I lie for her.

I hunt for her.

I kill for her.

And above all, I betray my mission for her.

She doesn’t know why. She doesn’t care why.

I do.

Treason comes in many forms.

Love is one of them.

Our training taught me to be a sociopath. A machine. A pawn. Nothing more than a tool for a larger goal, without attachments or feelings.

Our teachers forgot one important detail:

Pawns shouldn’t have hearts.

Yet we do.

It turns out our emotions are our greatest weapon.

And I know exactly where mine are aimed.

What a great beginning

Melissa Raines has created the beginning of another wonderful suspense series. Building off previous books (yet not needed to enjoy this one) we get an interesting world full of lies and deceit. Get ready, this is one wield read.

I must have more!!!

This is one of those books you don’t want to end. Now I’m forced to wait for the next audiobook. Joe and Andi are a great narration team!!!

Unexpected pleasure

I found this on Audible Escape & not being a big romance fan did not hold high expectations. Boy was I wrong! I was at the edge of my seat through the entire book. I don’t know why it was listed under romance as there was little throughout the book. The writing was good & the story unusual & riveting. I’m eagerly anticipating the next in the series

Just meh...

I started listening to this because of Andi Arndt and Joe Arden. A bit slow and a ton repetitive. Very predictable. Maybe for the youth, it would be more engaging. What’s up with writers always making females weak and allowing them to accept their fate? Perhaps it is just me, but I am tired of the mean women tearing down each other. And the entire theme is just so far fetched.

if it wasnt for Andi I would of stopped listening.

I was hoping this book was going somewhere interesting. Then find out I need to get the next one to find out. Not sure its worth it even with Andi narrating. Ho-hum
