The chilling tale of the undead in a galaxy far, far away.

“This is the Star Wars of every horror fan’s dreams—gory, funny, and brimming with a blood-spattered cast of swashbucklers and space-zombies.”—Seth Grahame-Smith, author of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies

When the Imperial prison barge Purge—temporary home to five hundred of the galaxy’s most ruthless killers, Rebels, scoundrels, and thieves—breaks down in a distant part of space, its only hope appears to lie with a Star Destroyer found drifting and seemingly abandoned. But when a boarding party from the Purge is sent to scavenge for parts, only half of them come back—bringing with them a horrific disease so lethal that within hours, nearly all aboard the Purge die in ways too hideous to imagine.

And death is only the beginning.

The Purge’s half-dozen survivors will do whatever it takes to stay alive. But nothing can prepare them for what lies waiting aboard the Star Destroyer. For the dead are rising: soulless, unstoppable, and unspeakably hungry.©2009 Joe Schreiber; (P)2009 Random House

This honestly shouldn’t have worked...but it did. Being familiar with Joe Schrieber’s work I knew this was going to be a “R” rated novel. I was not wrong (Although it’s all violence related. No cursing or sex). This book is freaking genius. The zombies are fast smart and scary. (Trig climbing through “trash”will give me nightmares).
This is one of the reasons I am still a fan of George Lucas’s films and Legends. They have a cohesiveness the reboot does not. It was willing to tell a different story. A story that wouldn’t be safe. For example a brilliant horror novel.
Legends maybe over but they will always live on in the hearts of its fans. From Splinter of the Minds Eye in 1975 to Maul Lockdown in 2014.

Decent Book, The story was great until a certain character came in. The description was detailed, the pacing was okay, and the characters were mostly well developed. You should listen to this book if your looking for a "meh" story.

Mildly interesting

good story according to the digital break up there's only about 6 chapters in the book that is almost 50. causing some of these chapters to be extremely long it sounds like the reader just read and read going through the chapters without ever actually stopping the recording and then moving on said he read chapter 1 everything in it chapter 2 everything in it chapter 3 everything I want to play chapter 7 and then took a break.
