Publisher's Summary

Exodus End's legendary drummer Steve Aimes plays the role of a rock star better than anyone in the business. Since his divorce, he's embraced every rock-and-roll stereotype and uses those vices to keep women at a safe emotional distance, while keeping their physical distance recklessly close. He vowed years ago to never give any woman the power to break his heart again. He just has to keep playing the part, and never drop his guard, and stop obsessing over the keyboardist in their new opening act.

Roux Williams knows an opportunity like this only comes around once in a lifetime. Her band Baroquen has finally gotten their big break and are opening for Exodus End and Sinners - two powerhouses of rock - on the European leg of their world tour. She refuses to screw up this opportunity by getting involved with Steve Aimes, no matter how gorgeous, sexy, and surprisingly attentive he is. She can't deny her attraction to him - the man has the body of a god and the face of a model - but he's absolutely off limits.

When their worlds are rattled by a ploy staged to destroy them, Exodus End's infamous bad boy and Baroquen's not-yet-famous good girl must figure out a way to have it all and each other.

Exodus End, Exodus End!!

I want MORE, I want DARE like now lol but I am so glad we got Steve’s story.
This book was fantastic. I am a super fan lol I am invested, Sinners is one of my favorite series. Olivia can do Rock Stars and do them well.

Steve Aimes is a secret sweetheart! I love the relationship he has with his band and with his best friend.

When he falls, he falls hard, I love that his bandmates know this about him as well. His past relationships really kicked him in the teeth, so he is cautious and you can’t blame him either. But when he saw Roux his world is about to get turned upside down and I AM THERE FOR IT!

Roux’s background will hurt your heart and I like the response Steve has to it. <3 I love that even though Roux has had a rough start in life she was placed with the best foster home anyone could have asked for. Her sisters are all amazing.
These two are made for each other and the drama around them.
I want Dare’s book like now lol did I already say this because it is not less true. I loved the way this book ended. I am left smiling and wanting more the best way to end a book in my opinion.

Loved, loved the narration!!

Where is the plot?

So let me just start off saying that I love me some Olivia Cunning. I fell in love with her when I read her Sinners on Tour series. One of the issues that I I'm having with this new series is the fact that there are a lot of outside factors and so much random drama. I do not mean to compare this series with Sinners but there is a huge difference when it comes to writing. In this series there seems to be a lot of outside people in order to make the story more intense. There is so much drama going on that it seems to not a true story at all.

Olivia has always written these Rockstar books with a lot of sex however lately it seems as though sex is the main focus and a plot just seems to be completely and utterly secondary. I understand that these characters are rockstars so sex drugs are the staple however in her previous series there was respect, love, understanding, and trying to get to know one another on a deeper level versus just sex all the time.

With Steve and Roux it just seems as though there was no deeper connection. Yes they had a couple of moments but it seems as though sex was the driving force within their relationship. I am honestly biding my time until we get to Darren's book because it should be great. We've got a bit of background on him and what I have learned about him seems to me it is going to be fantastic.

I will admit this, I am very interested in Roux's sisters. I want to get to know more about them and what each of their backgrounds are. I really hope that Olivia starts to go back to plots versus sex because I don't mind a good book with a lot of sex but I'd rather have a book with a couple scenes with better plots versus all sex scenes and no plot. If I wanted to read straight smut I would not have chosen this author.

Best of the Series

I will buy an audio book because of the narrator(s) And in this case I like Mackenzie Cartwright and I love Teddy Hamilton. I also like Joe Arden who narrated (with Mackenzie Cartwright) the first two books. The fist two books were okay, and Joe Arden did a great job with the male protagonists and Mackenzie Cartwright did a good job with Toni and Reagan, but I had a very difficult time with the female protagonists as written. Toni because she would cry over nothing; I get it that it was part of her character but it was so over done it became annoying. In the second book the female protagonist, Reagan Elliot, was supposed to be rather a bad ass - she was a loud mouth with a hair trigger temper, but was so flimsy she couldn't face any difficulty without someone around to prop her up - not a actual bad ass at all..

In Staged we finally have a wonderful female protagonist, Roux (Katie) Williams. Roux is sensitive, an introvert, and she does a little crying but she is tough when she needs to be. All this is perfectly brought to life by Mackenzie Cartwright. For this book Teddy Hamilton is the male protagonist, Steve Aims. Another swoon worthy performance by TH. It was completely worth the first two books to get to Roux, the rest of the Exodus End story and Teddy Hamilton. I was sorry to get to the end of this book.

A good addition to the series

Staged is the newest addition to the series. It continues the story of our favorite band prior to the end of the second book of the series. This story introduces the girl metal band Broken. And thus starts the wonderful way OC creates captivating and interesting characters with personality and quirks.

Overall, this story was good but because of the nature and sequence of the books it was a little bit predictable.
