Publisher's summary

Exodus End's legendary drummer Steve Aimes plays the role of a rock star better than anyone in the business. Since his divorce, he's embraced every rock-and-roll stereotype and uses those vices to keep women at a safe emotional distance, while keeping their physical distance recklessly close. He vowed years ago to never give any woman the power to break his heart again. He just has to keep playing the part, and never drop his guard, and stop obsessing over the keyboardist in their new opening act.

Roux Williams knows an opportunity like this only comes around once in a lifetime. Her band Baroquen has finally gotten their big break and are opening for Exodus End and Sinners - two powerhouses of rock - on the European leg of their world tour. She refuses to screw up this opportunity by getting involved with Steve Aimes, no matter how gorgeous, sexy, and surprisingly attentive he is. She can't deny her attraction to him - the man has the body of a god and the face of a model - but he's absolutely off limits.

When their worlds are rattled by a ploy staged to destroy them, Exodus End's infamous bad boy and Baroquen's not-yet-famous good girl must figure out a way to have it all and each other.

Exodus End, Exodus End!!

I want MORE, I want DARE like now lol but I am so glad we got Steve’s story.
This book was fantastic. I am a super fan lol I am invested, Sinners is one of my favorite series. Olivia can do Rock Stars and do them well.

Steve Aimes is a secret sweetheart! I love the relationship he has with his band and with his best friend.

When he falls, he falls hard, I love that his bandmates know this about him as well. His past relationships really kicked him in the teeth, so he is cautious and you can’t blame him either. But when he saw Roux his world is about to get turned upside down and I AM THERE FOR IT!

Roux’s background will hurt your heart and I like the response Steve has to it. <3 I love that even though Roux has had a rough start in life she was placed with the best foster home anyone could have asked for. Her sisters are all amazing.
These two are made for each other and the drama around them.
I want Dare’s book like now lol did I already say this because it is not less true. I loved the way this book ended. I am left smiling and wanting more the best way to end a book in my opinion.

Loved, loved the narration!!

Where is the plot?

So let me just start off saying that I love me some Olivia Cunning. I fell in love with her when I read her Sinners on Tour series. One of the issues that I I'm having with this new series is the fact that there are a lot of outside factors and so much random drama. I do not mean to compare this series with Sinners but there is a huge difference when it comes to writing. In this series there seems to be a lot of outside people in order to make the story more intense. There is so much drama going on that it seems to not a true story at all.

Olivia has always written these Rockstar books with a lot of sex however lately it seems as though sex is the main focus and a plot just seems to be completely and utterly secondary. I understand that these characters are rockstars so sex drugs are the staple however in her previous series there was respect, love, understanding, and trying to get to know one another on a deeper level versus just sex all the time.

With Steve and Roux it just seems as though there was no deeper connection. Yes they had a couple of moments but it seems as though sex was the driving force within their relationship. I am honestly biding my time until we get to Darren's book because it should be great. We've got a bit of background on him and what I have learned about him seems to me it is going to be fantastic.

I will admit this, I am very interested in Roux's sisters. I want to get to know more about them and what each of their backgrounds are. I really hope that Olivia starts to go back to plots versus sex because I don't mind a good book with a lot of sex but I'd rather have a book with a couple scenes with better plots versus all sex scenes and no plot. If I wanted to read straight smut I would not have chosen this author.

Another Massive Hit

At this point, I could probably rate every new book Olivia Cunning writes 5 stars before I even read it. Her books are a sure thing, and this one is no exception. Impatiently waiting for more…

There's more right?

So, I didn't read the books in order and started with Staged and initially I was kind of turned off based on Roux's ultra tragic background, it felt a little angsty to me but I stuck with it and I'm really glad I did. Roux definitely grew on me as she came out of her shell and her and Steve's relationship grew. Roux's band gave me high school nostalgia, reminding me of a combination of KISS and Evanescence. The narration was great, Teddy and Mackenzie are fantastic, I dislike hearing men voice women and women voice men but the two of them actually pulled the opposite gendered voices off pretty well. The things I really love about this book are Regan and her polyamorous relationship and how it doesn't come off as a some type of plot device, but rather they feel like real characters and I love the dynamic between her and her husbands? I think? I loved the friendship between Steve and Zach and that alternative sexuality is prevalent. But the thing I like best and the thing that surprised me the most is what happens to Steve and his sexual assault. Male sexual assault isn't something that I find in many books and the way his thoughts come off after it happens to him is refreshing, bas things happen to men too any men and it was nice to see that represented instead of the go-to with women. All in all, I loved this book and have already listened to it maybe four or five times. And I will be patiently waiting for a book on Max because he's such a harass and Dare just to see the type of person that shakes him up. There IS more right? Right?

Staged

As off news and a smear campaign seems to be following Exodus End around, Steve fills for one of the numbers of a band Sam is promoting, and replacing his best friends band from their world tore. Will they find out why this things are happening to them, and who is behind it? Loads of fun and laughter along the way, read brilliantly again by Teddy Hamilton and Mackenzie Cartwright.
