"This mystery thriller infused with diverse characters and intriguing themes will appeal to horror fans and to reluctant readers who enjoy a good scare." (School Library Journal)

We Need Diverse Books founder Ellen Oh returns with Spirit Hunters, a high-stakes middle-grade mystery series about Harper Raine, the new seventh grader in town who must face down the dangerous ghosts haunting her younger brother.

A riveting ghost story and captivating adventure, this tale will have you guessing at every turn!

Harper doesn’t trust her new home from the moment she steps inside, and the rumors are that the Raine family’s new house is haunted. Harper isn’t sure she believes those rumors, until her younger brother, Michael, starts acting strangely.

The whole atmosphere gives Harper a sense of déjà vu, but she can’t remember why. She knows that the memories she’s blocking will help make sense of her brother’s behavior and the strange and threatening sensations she feels in this house, but will she be able to put the pieces together in time?

Great story but stick to the book version

The story itself is fantastic! However, the narration is absolutely terrible. The cadence and inflection of the speaker is so weird. It’s almost like a parody of someone preforming a play deliberately badly.

A chilling fun time

The narrator made this story come to life. I'd recommend it to any ghost story enthusiast!

Good story but the narration is difficult

I enjoyed the story but find that I am suffering through the narration. I would actually like to hear the next books but don't think I could deal with more of this reader.

Painful

I tried listening to this book because it is on a reading list for students at my school. I often like to listen to their books as I'm driving back and forth to work. however, I was not able to finish this. I think it's the cadence of the speakers voice that is so off-putting to me. I'm so distracted by that that I really am having a hard time focusing on the book. so unfortunately, I will not be finishing this. I will check out the book from the library and read it myself.
