Everything I expected from these wonderful creators!

A young adult novel, I wish I had found when I was that age. I enjoyed the use of troops and unexpected twists. Daniel and Ed were brilliant realizations of legend. And in general and accurate portrayal of the difficulties of growing up. Thank you for this book.

The Halloween Moon

I enjoyed listening to this book. It was fun and what I was looking for in a Halloween book.

This was SO GOOD.

I feel like Joseph Fink has a great grasp of mixing mood with plot. This book is creepy, funny, exciting, and warm at it’s heart. Like his other work, it’s truly original.

The actor reading this is amazing too. Such great character work. Superb!

Really enjoyable Halloween celebration

This was such an entertaining escape. Joseph Fink has given us the gift of a Halloween tale that is a fun, coming of age story and celebration of all the next things of Halloween...

for halloween fans, old and new

beautifully written! The book is clearly meant for a younger audience and might be a great introduction to scarier stories, but it resonates with adults as well. It has a nostalgic feeling to it. Depending on your age, it might teach or remind you of how important (and inevitable) changing is.

Ideal October reading

Fun and exciting read, and it had me tearing up a little at the end. And Kevin R Free does the most wonderful voices! I may be an adult, but this reminded me of many of my old favorites from when I was Esther's age.

Excellent Story and Performance

if you are a fan of Welcome to Night Vale, you'll enjoy both the writing and the performance. The narrator will definitely sound familiar...
If not, you'll still like this book. The story is fantastic, and great for all ages. The themes it tackles are universal. The book never dragged, and the characters were fun--especially the villains. The writing is very descriptive, and it's easy to picture what is going on at any given moment. I highly recommend this book!

10/10 Recommended for Halloween lovers of all ages

The was super enjoyable, and spoke to my soul, and the narrator did a phenomenal job! I can relate to Esther in so many ways. Halloween has been my whole world for my entire life. Now I run a home haunt, and I hope that I give children like my (once) self and Esther something/place to look forward to each year. I strive to bring joy to others who share the same love of the holiday as I do. I am also lucky enough to have a partner who, like Augustine, doesn't "love" Halloween but supports my love of it in every way because it makes me happy! I, too, used to wish I could stay young and Trick-or-Treat forever. But now, as an adult, I have found so many more ways to enjoy the Halloween season, more than I could have ever dreamed I would! I recommend this read to Halloween lovers of all ages. It speaks to us on so many levels!

A kind of coming of age story centered around the best holiday ever. About a girl on the verge of highschool who is afraid to leave adolescence behind. She goes out on Halloween night despite her parents wishes, and finds herself trapped in a nightmare of the holiday. With the help of an old friend and a couple newfound ones, she maneuvers her way through the night and also through her fears and feelings on growing up.
