I love this series, the author and the narrator

This series and several others by Annabelle Chase , are great listens. They entertain me during housework, crafts and at night instead of TV.

Mixed feelings

I started out loving the Spellbound series and recommend the early books. This newer series is less than spectacular.

Story:
For myself I find it highly frustrating that the MC is constantly written as an idiot. She’s a lawyer yet somehow she is always the dumbest person in the room (except for her husband).

The whole series started out great but there’s been a shift backwards in credibility and believability. The MC has been there for two years and yet she can’t manage any further magic offense or defense or healing. This author usually has great, quirky, memorable characters that have some kind of evolvement but I’m not seeing any of that happening here.

Narration:
The narrator usually does a decent job with these characters but her performance has been muddled to where I can’t always tell who is speaking (accents and tones aren’t consistent).

Am I happy the story line continued? Yes
However, I will think hard before buying any additional books in this series.
