Pepper has her hands full - she must ensure the safety of her town, try to clear Betty’s name, and make sure no one else winds up a victim of the Magnolia Cove murderer. Can she do it? Or will she become the next victim?

Just when Pepper Dunn starts accepting her ability to communicate with animals, she’s thrown for a loop - an egg containing a baby dragon winds up on her doorstep.

Convinced the creature will grow up to become a destructive force of nature, Pepper gives the dragon to the first person interested in buying - a traveling magician named Mysterio, who claims he can communicate with the dead.

Relieved to be free of the creature, Pepper’s world turns upside down when Mysterio reveals that he has a message for Pepper from her dead mother. Pepper can’t wait to discover what it is. But before she has a chance to find out, Mysterio is murdered.

Left with a set of clues, Pepper is determined to discover the information her mother wanted her to know. But will untangling the mess of clues lead Pepper on the right path, or will it lead her straight into the hands of the murderer?

Fun characters, fun story lines

This was a lot of fun to listen. I’ll be buying the rest of series. Sweet, funny characters and mysteries always have a nice turn. The performance was good with all the voices. I hope she continues through the series.

Cozy Fun with a Touch of Mayhem and Magic

This is my first time listening to these books by Amy Boyles and I was pleasantly thrilled! Knocked out all three out of the 5 available in a very short time! Some of it has a couple silly areas but honestly its feel good and each one was a good storyline. Brought me some joy and entertainment!

Sweet Tea Witches are whimsical and easy to listen to while driving. Great mystical characters!

Terrible narrator

It was so hard to listen to this book with the narrator that was used. Maybe I’ll get it on kindle

This has been a great series So far. Even the narrator Is good I totally enjoyed listening On to the next !!!!

Enchanting Southern Charm

An interesting coming of age Witchy paranormal cozy. (Note, I've listened to the first of three stories so far).

The author captures southern charm of a damsel in distress, accused of murder, after finding a town full of family she didn't know she had. A town complete with talking animals, and other furry friends.

I did find the plot transparent at times, and some of the questions I wanted answered were set up as long-term engagements, to be revealed slowly, like the aroma of a pan of Grandma Betty's Sweet Potato Pie seeping into the air of the kitchen.

The other two stories in this bundle are on my must listen list, thanks in part to the fun and engaging narration. Hollis does a fine southern accent (at least to my Yankee ears). I can picture the text flowing by as she not only reads it, but finds ways to bring it to life.

Character voices are gendered appropriately, and just different enough to discernible without going nuts trying too hard to make every character unique. The author uses dialog tags and action beats to aid the narrator in this. It's easy throughout the story to know which character is speaking without straining the repertoire of the narrator.

Entertaining stories

Nice little cozy mystery series. I enjoyed the story and the narration by Hollis McCarthy. Amy Boyles draws you into the little community of characters. Can’t wait to start the next one

Fun Paranormal Cozy Series

This 3 book collection is the perfect way to learn about the characters and life in Magnolia Cove. I do love these characters, including Pepper Dunn, the newbie and protagonist, Betty, the cantankerous grandmother and wily Witch, Pepper's cousins who have their own unique personalities, and the AUNTS. The aunts are double trouble wherever they go. Then there is Axle. His name kind of says it all. That's not all. There are werewolves, mediums, even dragons. Get lost in the adventure and fun that is Magnolia Cove.

Not so young but definitely not old

I loved the books. The last book on this kinda bugged me. When Pepper and Axel goes to the “old witches home” to the party and they were listening to Def Leppard and these people were using walkers and had thick glasses. Now wait just a second…I am 46 years old and when I was a teenager I loved me some Def Leppard! I am Not walking in a walker and I’m certainly still young enough to have an 11 and 13 year old sons. But according to this book I should be 80 years old and dancing to Def Leppard. Heck Def Leppard themselves aren’t that old! I’m just saying know who these band’s audiences are cause that part REALLY made me feel old. Now as for the story I love dragons so Hugo is so far my favorite familiar.
