Awesome!
Genuinely so surprised at how great this story was! I was engaged the entire time, the fmc made choices I didn’t agree with but excited to see her grow in the series. The reason it’s not a 5 star was because some parts were predictable and I could tell where the story was heading.
wish the other books were available on audio but will be continuing via kindle!!

Good Story
This was a good book, not a great book. I agree with other reviewers, the MFC is very naive and does not make good decisions. She tends to believe what she is told, instead of learning by what she sees with her own eyes. It is very frustrating as a reader. Even with that being said, it is still a good book. The world building is good, and it is exciting, so I am going to buy the second book in the series. If you are a romantasy lover, I'd still recommend picking up this book to decide for yourself. I don't think you'll be disappointed enough to regret listening to it.

Good Storyline but Awful Narrator
I really enjoyed the story and world building but Amanda Dolan has always sounded like a mid 40s woman with a shrilly voice. I don’t mind her narration for male characters but it’s like nails on a chalk board listening to her narrate female characters.

Good Listen
The Narrator did an awesome job..
the book reminds me of the novel Red Queen and Cruel Prince. I like that it has adventure and magic. I also like the fact that the romance is warming up and not just jumping bones.. I like that the intimacy has some back story.
Con>> some of Diem’s personality traits conflicted with each other.. Diem came off very cocky, believing that she can do something but end up not knowing what she is doing.. “it was annoying”
