Phenomenal!

NSS is always a treat. The Sons of War series is a great blend of post-apocalyptic thriller and mafia saga,

Fractured America after economic collapse.

A second civil war and leaves cities like Los Angeles in chaos.

Overall, it’s a pulse-pounding, binge-worthy series that merges crime drama with end-times survival.

As are all of Nick’s books, it’s authenticity and fast-paced storytelling.

Civil War + Organized Crime = relentless page turn

I already owned book 1 and 2, but blew through book 3 and 4 once I found this in a box set. Really good action, excellent characters, and a unique premise with the organized crime aspect. The fact this is read by Audie winner Ray Porter is a huge plus. He's one of my favorite narrators! Don't pass this up!

Oustanding!

These books are very underrated in the post apocalyptic genre. I saw one reader say it's the Sopranos meets Mad Max, and that's pretty accurate when you add in the 4th installment. Smith's vision of a futuristic America torn apart by a Civil War is both timely and terrifying. The best part for me is the added mafia and organized crime elements. Add in Ray Porter, and this is one of the best series I've listened to in a long time. Definitely give this a try!

Kick ass story!

I already own the entire series individually and in hardcover, but still bought and listened to this box set! Such a kick ass story! Bad asses and awesome action. Interesting and plausible future. Give this series a go! You won't be disappointed!

Wartime Chaos from an Expert’s Eye

Nicholas Sansbury Smith has an eye for civilization in chaos. His prior career in national security trained his mind to identify potential threat and subsequent survival challenges. All of this informs the mistro at work, showing through gangs at war, how American heroes would respond when World War III breaks out on our home soil.

I loved the character work, as expected. The opposing families evokes a Godfather mafioso tone, and Nick’s empathy into both sides created a magnificent expose on how familial loyalty and the desires to protect empires can unravel spectacularly.

All four books are bangers. Nick and Tom write at a fast clip, while blasting the screen with efficient action and important character moments. You’ll get hooked early on and by book four the rewards will be worth the investment.

Ray Porter’s narration is a perfect fit. He’s always a champion of auditory intrigue. I loved his skill pared with our authors.

Cheers to all involved! I loved it from beginning to end!
