Publisher's Summary

As Proverbs fits squarely into the genre of “advice to a son” literature, so the Song of Songs fits squarely into the genre of erotic love poetry. Traditionally read as an allegory of God’s love for Israel or of Christ’s love for the Church, Logos Bible Study’s Dr. Bill Creasy explores the Song of Songs as what it is, first and foremost: an erotic love poem written by Solomon in the final years of his life, a poem tinged with deep regret and longing.

New Understanding of Song of Solomon

Great reflection on the conundrum of love. Deep dive into the true origin of the book and great comparison at the end to Ecclesiastes.

I need a cold shower!

This reading is steamy and quite sad. From a women's perspective, reading through Song of Solomon is irritating with Solomon cheating on his beloved; however, Dr. Creasy does a good job putting things in perspective. He has a very interesting take on the backstory of the poem which keeps you engaged through the reading.

It's just a reading

There was no teaching I could have read this on my own or gotten my own bible app. Why sell this? There was no elaboration at all. Shame

Good, but not as good as some.

Unlike Creasy's other Bible studies this one was almost entirely literary, with no more than a passing reference to its religious interpretation. To get the most of this study you will need to invest in a more mainstream companion text.
