Story
Noah Westwood is tired of life on the streets, so he turns to Marcello Maltese, a man who owns a small media empire...and a few covert businesses, such as an escort service. Noah volunteers for this, but he's playing a dangerous game. A secret from his past could turn his new friends into enemies, and he isn't sure he can perform the duties he signed up for, especially when he's more interested in falling in love than hopping into the beds of his clients. This is complicated further when his hunky coworker, Harold Franklin, seems to be interested. Or is he?

Story
I love him. And I’m pretty sure he loves me back...even though he’s straight. When I first met Carter King, I knew he was something special. I imagined us being together, and we are, but only as friends. Best friends! I’m trying to be cool with that, even though I know he has secrets, and there have definitely been mixed signals. I don’t want a crush to ruin what we already have. Then again, if there’s any chance that we can be together, it’s worth the risk, because Carter could be the love of my life. Or he might be the boy who breaks my heart.

Story
Five years ago, I walked away from Sunbury, Oregon, and left my best friend behind. The move was supposed to get my life on track. I even had a list: Life changing epilepsy surgery. Check. See the world. Check. Get over my straight best friend... Not exactly. No matter where I go or who I meet, I can't let Tanner go. I'm back to tell him how I feel. To get the closure I need once and for all. Only now I'm here and falling for him all over again, it's getting harder to say the words. Because once I have my closure, I'll be gone. And this time it will be for good.

Do you believe in love at first sight? Paul Auster doesn't. Paul doesn't believe in much at all. He's thirty, slightly overweight, and his best features are his acerbic wit and the color commentary he provides as life passes him by. His closest friends are a two-legged dog named Wheels and a quasibipolar drag queen named Helena Handbasket. He works a dead-end job in a soul-sucking cubicle, and if his grandmother's homophobic parrot insults him one more time, Paul is going to wring its stupid neck.

How much do I love thee?
It is no secret that I'm a huge Jay Bell fan and although I love all the books, this one is extra special. It gives the before, after and in between of the Seasons Series. It also gave me more Jace and for that I'm happy. I've already listened to it more than once 😊

And now the rest of the story...
Most authors can tell a good story while leaving out most of the details that link the characters and situations for a short period in time, often leaving many bits of information out of the book. This is not one of those authors. This is not one of those books.
Famous science fiction authors create their imaginary worlds and universes where the reader seldom has a basis to judge the imagined space in time. Jay Bell is not one of those authors. He develops characters and situations in recent to current time with all the relationships and scenarios as vivid as the real world on which they are based. This book ties together and clarifies much of the less important but not trivial details that link it all together.
But still the story continues to expand as the next book/audible book arrived just as I started this one. I hope I can find out the importance of a small Missouri college town to the author that made many of the characters what they have become, something like you and me.

The best book series EVER!
I think that this book series deserves some kind of an award for.. being awesome! I loved the book and the forst two chapters made me cry so hard that I couldn't go to school the next morning. Not kidding. Maybe I'm just an emotional person but the books are actually amazing. I found the book something like summer by accident and was skeptical about reading it not thinking it was good. Little did I know that I'd be reading the whole series in a year and that the books would change my life. Not only did the books inspire me to come out, they gave me the strength and support that I couldn't get from my parents to LOVE MYSELF! So to anyone accidentally stumbeling across this book series and thinking weather or not they sould read it, I have only one thing to tell you: get ready for an emotional ride OF YOUR LIFETIME!!

Much as you would expect
The writing is much what you would expect from a book in this wonderful series. I enjoyed each of the stories, indeed wanted more. There are parts of the book which are unsuited to audio, so it is not quite as long as it seems. I sometimes had trouble remembering who was who, and how the main story had gone, but usually I was able to remember by the end of the short story.
Kevin R Free, whom I used to think was one of the best narrators, is getting on my nerves by this point. His range of accents and other vocal characteristics is actually quite limited, and as these stories focus on the characters who are usually tangential to the story, he is not using his best voices. His women's women's voices are particularly bad.
That being said, if you love the series as I do, this is a must-have to add to the collection.

Oh so sad about Victor
I was pleasantly surprised and totally shocked when I was listening to the story about Victor and his life I first met Victor a few books ago and my heart went out to him I never have forgotten him in this series but I think he had a sad life and even though I do not believe in the after death and I know this is a fiction book but his young death has totally broken my heart.

The least favorite of this series for me.
Sadly this was the least favorite of the series so far. I could have done without the reading of the appendix of all the characters, it was odd to listen to it that way. I also just did not appreciate the Purgatory story-line (the rest of the series is so believable/relate-able and feels so real. This to a supernatural turn. I still listened all the way through just so I don't miss anything. This one I did not cry over , so that is a positive , right?

Any additional comments?
Fun little back stories in this book. Least favorite was the purgatory chapter...it was annoying in the beginning but then once I gave it a chance I got into it and was glad that Victor and Jace found each other. Allisons beach venture with Jace's sister was freakin AWESOME! I loved it. Overall amazing series!
