Story
I love him. And I’m pretty sure he loves me back...even though he’s straight. When I first met Carter King, I knew he was something special. I imagined us being together, and we are, but only as friends. Best friends! I’m trying to be cool with that, even though I know he has secrets, and there have definitely been mixed signals. I don’t want a crush to ruin what we already have. Then again, if there’s any chance that we can be together, it’s worth the risk, because Carter could be the love of my life. Or he might be the boy who breaks my heart.

Story
Five years ago, I walked away from Sunbury, Oregon, and left my best friend behind. The move was supposed to get my life on track. I even had a list: Life changing epilepsy surgery. Check. See the world. Check. Get over my straight best friend... Not exactly. No matter where I go or who I meet, I can't let Tanner go. I'm back to tell him how I feel. To get the closure I need once and for all. Only now I'm here and falling for him all over again, it's getting harder to say the words. Because once I have my closure, I'll be gone. And this time it will be for good.

Publisher's Summary
Nice guys finish last, but that doesn't mean they give up the fight. Sometimes it's necessary to keep trudging through the rain in the hopes of finding a break in the clouds.
William Townson is a good person. He's kind, considerate, and the last thing he ever wanted was to hurt anyone. Accidents happen though, and when they do, all that can be done is to pick up the pieces. For William, this means trying to hold together a stagnant relationship while resisting the temptation of Jason Grant, a young man with eyes just as intense as his love. Only the future can promise redemption for mistakes of the past, forcing William to choose between the Coast Guard and the needs of his heart. Can he find his way through the downpour to somewhere warm and dry?

Favorite book of the series so far
This is one of my favorite books, and in my opinion the best in this series. Seeing the series in the eyes of William was insightful, enthralling, and most of all empowering. Knowing that someone can make a relationship work with near impossible odds at times shows true dedication. Every time I read the next book in this series I begin to feel like these people exist in real life. I almost think of them that way; sometimes wishing I could go meet the characters to truely witness their amazing story and their love for one another.

The love flowing from this series is amazing. It is an emotional roller coaster that I could ride endlessly.
I'm sad that I don't have another addition to this story to jump right into. If another is released I have no doubt that I will binge read it in a day or two. I highly recommend this entire series to anyone looking for the ultimate love story.

Is this the end?
it is almost as difficult to reach the end of a good story where the characters come to life in your head as the narrator makes the sounds between your ears form halographic images in your imagination. When it feels like you can touch your friends as they perform their spellbinding lives around you. It takes a special author to make it real. So maybe a sequel to tie it all together?
