Publisher's summary

Nate has been in love with Quinn, his brother's best friend, for as long as he can remember. But when he finally gets the chance to show Quinn how he feels, his heart gets broken in the most unexpected way.

Quinn doesn't believe in miracles, especially not Christmas ones. When he decides to win Nate back he knows it won't be easy. The last thing he expects is a health scare, a road trip and a vicious snow storm to work in his favor. In the end, a cabin in the woods turns out to be not only the shelter they desperately need, but also Quinn's very own Christmas miracle.

Intense, passionate and intriguing.

What made the experience of listening to Snowed In the most enjoyable?

To have these two characters brought to life by the narrator.

What did you like best about this story?

There was a lot of content in so few pages and I was drawn into the story from the start.

Which character – as performed by Dan Rider – was your favorite?

Nate! My heart broke for young Nate, to have the one thing he has always dreamed of, then to have it snatched away while he lay dreaming.

If you could rename Snowed In, what would you call it?

Snowed In seems to fit just fine, and it's the title the Author gave the story, why mess with it?

Any additional comments?

Tams e-book review December 2015

At just fifteen years old, Nate not only knew he was gay, he knew exactly who he wanted… his brother’s best friend Quinn. Several years later on an annual Holiday trip to their family cabin, Nate finally gets what he has wanted for so long. But he is left stunned, confused and broken hearted when he wakes up the next morning to find Quinn gone.

Two years later Quinn is back to beg for forgiveness and to finally explain to Nate why he snuck out of the bed they’d just shared, like a thief in the night. Quinn is back to lay claim to Nate, but what he finds is not the energetic, full of life young man that Quinn fell in love with. Nate is pissed off, defiant and wants nothing to do with Quinn. Will an unplanned trip to the cabin and a couple of days alone be the answer to Quinn’s prayers?

Short, Sexy and… wait for it… Steamy! Kostova has delivered yet another fantastic Holiday story full of meat for us to sink our teeth into. (pun intended) Seriously, there was a lot of content in so few pages and I was drawn into the story from the start. My heart broke for young Nate, to have the one thing he has always dreamed of, then to have it snatched away while he lay dreaming. It really hits Nate hard and just by the dialogue in the story between Quinn and Bran, Nates brother, you know how hard the years have been on both men. I knew though, I just knew there had to be a reason. I’ll say no more, you’ll have to read for yourself.

Definitely the perfect little short story for this time of year; Snowed In is intense, passionate and intriguing. I devoured it in a little over an hour, just could not put it down once I started.

Enjoyable Quick Listen - Perfectly Narrated

Snowed In by Teodora Kostova was an enjoyable quick listen. It was easy to be smitten with Nate’s charm and his obvious love for Quinn, his brother’s best friend.

It took a little longer to understand and care for Quinn because of Quinn's sudden, unexpected and unexplained act of leaving Nate while Nate was asleep. This happened just after Nate had finally declared his love for Quinn and the two had engaged in incredible sex. For two years, Quinn ignored every text, email, and phone call from Nate trying to find out why Nate had gone . By the end of the story, however, Quinn too had become a more than likable person.

Dan Rider’s narration was perfect for this book, bringing every character vividly to life.

It’s hard to believe, but the one fault I found with this novella was that there were too many descriptions of sex, and not enough of emotion.

Awesome Second Chance Romance

I love second chance romances and this is one of the better ones. I wasn’t sure I’d be able to forgive Quinn for what he did but thanks to the authors skill I did. Hot, sexy guys and a believable romance. Perfect narrator.

Narrator a Bright Spot in a Frustrating Story

This short story was enjoyable enough overall, as it included some of my favorite tropes... a friends-to-lovers second chance tale with a road trip, snowed in mountain cabin, and dash of Christmas. Narrator Dan Rider was new to me, and I enjoyed how the young tone of his voice and fresh enthusiasm in his performance seemed to fit the characters well. The difference in his voices for Quinn and Nate was subtle but distinct enough to distinguish who was talking, and his female voices were believable.

As for the story itself, there were times I was frustrated with Quinn and Nate - often both at the same time. Yes, Quinn's complete lack of communication shattered their budding romantic relationship right out of the gate, but his prolonged reluctance to tell Nate his reason for leaving (which was a legit reason to leave the cabin that night, but not to cut all communication - for two years! - with someone you've professed to love) remains baffling. Can you tell I was still hung up on this well after Nate had already forgiven Quinn? Perhaps that's why Nate's forgiveness felt rushed, but then, this is a short story after all. Still though, frustrations aside, this was a pleasant listen overall.

Feelgood

Teodora Kostova has written a believable and engaging story. For most of the book you just wished Nate would slug Quinn, but in the end your happy he didn't. Dan Rider did a nice job with the narration and the voices matched how I imagine the characters.

A Sweet Christmas Story

Ready for a short (3 hour), sweet Christmas tale? An unexpected snow storm keeps Nate and Quinn from reaching their family holiday destination.

Fortunately, a vacation cabin is within driving distance despite the falling snow. While our MCs are not pleased to be stuck together for the storm's duration, they are willing to work together to survive their inforced stay.

Which includes cooking. And sharing bedding. And a fire. And a Christmas tree. And a confession.

Narrator Dan Rider has a good voice for 20-something characters, and an easiness of reading the scenes that makes for an enjoyable story.

Really Nice Performance by Dan Rider

lol, every trope possible - brother's best friend, friends to lovers, first time, 2nd chance (just off the top of my head).

Honestly the narrator, Dan Rider, totally made this one for me. He gives a wonderful performance: a different voice for each character, plus believable female voices which really work. Mr. Rider builds the story and makes the most of the numerous sexy-times throughout. 4 stars for him

as good as the ebook

The story is always 4 or 5 stars, because if I wouldn't like the story as ebook, I wouldn't listen to the audiobook.

The performance from the narrator is also very important for me. I can't listen to a lot, because my English as a non-native-speaker isn't so perfect to follow a whole story over hours, when the narrator speaks too fast or too sloppy. Normally I have to SEE the person, who is talking to me in English. It took me a little bit, to come into the narrator, but at the end, it worked. I only have to take a few breaks between. I'm just not yet finish with the book, but I listen enough to give a review.

PLEASE READ MY RATING SYSTEM!!!

To my ratings:

5* - very very good
it's like an A+

4* - very good and will be often re-listening
it's like an A

3* - it's more then a one-time-listening.
it's like a B

A full package :)

Story: a cute and fuzzy story with just the right amount of angst to make things interesting. Both characters were spot on and the story just perfect :)
Narration: I loved the voice! It was a new to me narrator but the audio was very clear and pleasant to listen to :)

Brother’s best friend, second chance, forced proximity and snow, this short story is fab holiday read. I loved the style of this book and the switch between the POVs is well done. Dan Rider does a good job in bringing Quinn and Nate to life.
