Sniper and antihero Skull Denham refuses the Eden Plague rather than giving up the demons that drive him. Instead, he selects his own mission to fight against the ever-growing evil of those who would murder innocent Plague carriers, using the only methods he's ever found effective: swift, precise and brutal violence.

Edgier than other Plague Wars novels, Skull's Shadows is a post-apocalyptic thriller meant for mature readers due to language, violence and adult situations. It provides another view of the period following Infection Day and fills in more of Skull's story before he becomes a key player in the future salvation of humanity.

Plague Wars continues with a great character, good story, and more than a few surprises. An essential part of the larger saga. We'll done.

A more than worthy installment.

Reader was horrible. Same constant cadence. Story was good. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.

Good back story.

I've enjoyed the plague books so far,, and fully intend to keep reading more. I simply found this one difficult because the protagonist is highly sociopathic and unlikable, if not quite so much as Ward Cleaver from "I am not a serial killer" by Dan Wells (which I never red the next book)

That aside, the narration is competent, if not stellar. The story was solid, held together, and certainly made you understand Skull and his code, if not like him.

A difficult main character to like
