So Well Written and Performed!

A shocking but brilliantly told story! This book is so well written! Each character is well developed and comes to life as if you're listening to them tell their story. The performance was excellent! I'm glad I did not have a Nana Pat!! Or a Mother Bernadette!

I liked it a lot. loved the narration mostly, as the accents really made me see the characters.

Great story, well told

I’ve found that true crime book written by a victim or someone involved can sometimes be a miss for me. But I loved this. Joanne paints a very clear portrait of her life and of her experience without ever whining or rambling. Listen to this in 2 days it was great.

The writer draws you into the story and you can feel the pain and awfulness for the family. Unimaginable

I like the way the story followed a timeline instead of jumping back-and-forth. I like that it was written in the first person and you can view the pain in the joy as it goes along

This was such a great book and I’m so grateful to the author for sharing her story! Something about the way it was written was really intriguing and kept my attention the entire time. My heart hurt for the author for the hard things she went through, but I really respected her iron will and endurance and sense of humor throughout it all!

The narrator was perfect! I loved how she read the story and I thought it might have even been the author herself because she made it seem so realistic and genuine.
