He's gentle, protective, and giving in every sense of the word. Despite what I told myself going in, I'm falling hard and falling fast.

Shutout is a college hockey romance with lots of spice, swoon, and a happily ever after. It's the second book in the Rules of the Game series and can be enjoyed as a standalone.

YOU GUYSSSSSSSS!!!! This book was so, 100% worth the wait. I already need more Hades and Tink in my life and I only just finished reading it. Avery has really excelled in this book in all aspects, character development, plot, everything was truly top tier. Sera and Tyler were immediately so relatable and OMG the mental health representation!? Immediately yes. I have been so excited to dive deeper into Sera's character since she was briefly mentioned is Offside as the "party girl" but that did not even remotely begin to describe how much of a fun-loving ray of sunshine she was! I loved her. Suffering from ADHD (Sera) and anxiety (Tyler) myself, reading two characters that are battling the same daily struggles is always such a breath of fresh air. Broody and tattooed, Tyler is everything I come to love in an MMC, rope that in with being the team goalie!? Consider me in my hockey goalie era because I ate him up. Delivering the spice we have come to love and adore from her Avery hit the top shelf with this one. (See what I did there? ;)) 10/5 stars. Another hit!

Cute but...

Normally I don't put a book down. This one I stopped reading six times the saving grace was I did fall for the main characters. The bonus chapters did add another star.

It was just okay.

The characters were great, but nothing seemed to happen. It was sweet, but hard to stay invested in.

Good Hockey Listen

I read Offside a while ago and finally got to the next book in the series.
Shutout is a friend's little sister with some forced proximity. The chemistry and attraction between Sera and Tyler are off the charts. That was one of my favorite parts of this book.

I loved that both characters had their own passions and drive. They both wanted to succeed in their own way with those passions. But to also have a seriousness to the storyline that made me connect more with the characters.


This is a great listen, and I thoroughly enjoyed this audio. The narrators did a great job with this story. I listened to it in one sitting and loved it.

Tyler Donahue is the mvp

If I could re read this over and over I would. This was my first time listening and the narrators were great!

Amazing and so beautiful ❤️

I loved this book so much it was well worth the wait I loved the relationship that Seraphina and Tyler made the spice was top tier 🔥 and it also really got me emotional from the car. You probably wouldn’t think it, but there are all heavy topics in it that got me emotional but I loved it and the bonus chapters are amazing ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I am not really good at rating spice but 🌶️🌶️🌶️


Love Tink and Hades

The story is amazing but specifically for this audio, the narrator for Sera was spot on! Couldn’t have picked anyone better. Tyler’s narrator wasn’t exactly what I pictured him sounding like, but he grew on me more and more throughout the book. Definitely worth the purchase.

Love this series

I’m gonna start with what I dislike. That I don’t have another book in this series to read right now. In terms of the positive love the story it’s so good to hear stories with real issues vs the silly miscommunication drama that happens as plot points in other books. I love the inner monologues and the character development. The use of actual coping mechanisms that slowly become ineffective thus forcing the characters to find new ways of dealing with issues. Sooo good! I’m sad I listened to this book in 5 days and also ready for the next one.

I want more!!

Okay So we are going to need Dallas’ story, Reed’s story (bc what awesome guy deserves to not find happiness after his high school GF, cheats on him!) and I’d love to hear Bailey’s Brother’s story!!! He was kissing a Mysterious Red Head in book 1!! Love Love Love Tyler aka: Hades and Sarah aka: Tink’s love story!! It was so sweet!! Okay… soooo I believe that is all! 👍🏼
