One typical Friday morning in February 1997, two masked men dressed in body armor and carrying automatic rifles burst into the Bank of America in North Hollywood, California and started shooting. 

They forced customers to the ground, stuffed hundreds of thousands of dollars into a duffel bag and exited out the back…where they were surrounded by police.

For the next 44 minutes, the armed robbers and police engaged in a deadly gunfight. News choppers overhead aired the North Hollywood shootout live on television. I was worried as a police officers wife I wasn't going to be able to listen to it but it is so well done. Hearing from victims, officers, dispatch, family members, the doctor was captivating.

That sad story changed the way police do business

Police work can be very scary business. Not what you see on tv. The police were overpowered by 2 bandits who were armed with either semi auto or auto Ak-47. And it seemed like more ballistic armament on their bodies. LAPD MEN & women were unbelievably brave & scared shitless. Lu

It's been a while since I've heard about the North Hollywood shooting. These accounts lend so much more detail. It's crazy what they all went through.

Heart Stopper

This podcast was really great. I lived through this incident, not too far from where it happened and yet, I don’t think I’ve ever heard the whole sordid scenario. I felt for the victims, i related to the family members and I felt for the bystanders. That was definitely a day for Crowning Heroes. 💜

From start to finish, I could not stop listening. The emotion from the people involved as they told the story from their perspective was palpable. I shed a few tears listening to them, not gonna lie. Wonderfully produced. Absolutely recommend.
