Publisher's summary

Being raised in the foster system has made Kinley Taylor feel like a lifelong outcast, but it's witnessing a young girl's last few minutes on Earth that proves just how alone she truly is. Kinley has no one to turn to, no family, no friends...except perhaps the gorgeous Delta Force soldier she met months ago. The one she ignored when he'd tried to keep in touch, convinced he couldn't really be interested in a relationship.

When Kinley ghosts him not once, but twice, Gage "Lefty" Haskins takes the hint. Clearly the pretty personal assistant didn't feel the same connection he did. Or so he assumes...until she shows up in Texas, on the run for her life after already surviving an assassination attempt. Lefty couldn't turn her away even if he wanted to - and he doesn't. The longer he knows her, the greater the connection he feels. He just has to keep Kinley alive long enough to convince her she's The One.

Easier said than done, when the man who wants her dead has friends in high places...and a very patient hit man on retainer.

Shielding Kinley is the second book in the Delta Team Two Series. Each book is a standalone, with no cliffhanger endings.

NOTE: The word "expect" in the first paragraph was changed to "except".

I really liked Kinley and Gage

Shielding Kinley is one of those listens that you can do while easily doing other things. It will keep you listening. It had good detailing introducing Kinley and Gage, then the situation before throwing the danger in. There is really good buy in to the story and characters.

I thought it was sweet that Gage already called Kinley by Kins from the very start. She was so introverted and admitted to herself that she just didn’t know how to interact. Kinley was amazing in her strength. The story didn’t pull any punches in how smart Kinley was about her situations or saving her from danger at the last moment. I appreciated the reality of everything.

Virgina Rose did a great job bringing the story to life. She blended all of the voices together smoothly. She was able to voice Gage without being over the top. None of the male voices sounded girly. I could always tell who was talking. She was able to bring the tension and emotion forward when it was called for. I enjoyed listening to Ms. Rose narrator.

While this is part of a series, it is a stand alone. A lot of the guys names get thrown in at the start, but it’s not necessary to really pay attention to them. I do get a kick out of the cameo appearance by Tex in all of the books. Shielding Kinley doesn’t disappoint.

loved the characters and story

When Kinley crawled to the road despite her injuries made me cry and ache for her. I really love Tex and his ability to do the impossible for his men.

How much can she take...

Kinley proves over and over that she is strong. Foster care, a tough boss...what else should she be expected to deal with? More..so much more. Lefty is her perfect half. He will do everything he can to protect her...even when she refuses to let him because SHE is trying to protect HIM!

New #1 best seller right here ladies

This is the 2nd installment of Susan Stoker’s Second Delta Force Team. This is the story story of Gage/Lefty and Kinley.
This story gripped me right from the beginning. It sucked me in and had me in the edge of my seat the entire time. This author kept me wanting more the entire way through this story. There are various characters from other series which are brought up and some even show up. Throughout the story I has gasps that Susan Stoker couldn’t have done that, some misty moments and even a couple of oh hell no she didn’ts. I laughed at parts too.
The ending, OoooooMmmmmmGggggg!!!! I was shocked, gripped, eager to find out how this author wrapped it all up in the neat tidy bow we love and adore. This ending was awesome!! I didn’t see it coming.
The epilogue for the next book...HOLY SCHNIKIES!!! I can NOT wait for Brain and Aspens book!!’
This narrator was good. I forgot Susan had gotten another narrator, but was pleasantly pleased with how well she did. This is my 2nd story with this narrator. I’d listen to more by her.

Great story & narration

I devoured this story written by Susan Stoker and loved that Kinley is one strong heroine in this book. I enjoyed her friendship with Gillian, her developing relationship with Gage “Lefty” and her brave actions. Narrator Virginia Rose did a fantastic job bringing this story and the characters to life. She delivered all the different emotions seamlessly and transitioned smoothly from female to male voices.

Susan Stoker's books are to die for!

Every single one of Susan Stoker's books is just amazing but none has make me cry like this one. I was balling my eyes out at the end.

This book was no exception! Fantastic storyline! Fantastic Plot! Fantastic Naration! I do wish there was more interacting between Lefty's parents and Kinley but loved what I got that for sure. ❤️❤️☺️☺️

I can't wait to listen to Brain and Aspen's story! Eagerly waiting for the next book!
