Spectacular story but horrendous male narrator

This is one of my favorite reads so far this year.. but the male narration for the audiobook was so so bad. Maybe worst voice I’ve ever had to listen to. The female narrator was wonderful but the man’s voice was so sniveling and quiet and whiny that I couldn’t even finish listening to it. Had to stick it out finding the time to reading on my kindle. Please please please hire a new male narrator for book two. Or better yet, re-do book one as well with someone new. Again loved the female narrator though.

Buy the book - terrible audio balance issues

Your options are to blast this through your headphones so that you can hear the male characters' lines, or you can keep the audiobook going at a normal volume, only to have to rewind and temporarily up the volume every time male characters have lines. I've been on Audible for a decade and an audiobook listener for longer, and this is the only book I've ever been frustrated with for audio balancing issues. Do better by your authors and narrators, Tantor!

This one just didn’t WoW me :/

I would not recommend this on audiobook. It wasn’t the best. The female voice just didn’t click with the main character for me and the male voices were all similar and so soft spoken I had a hard time understanding what he was saying.

The story was not completely unique. I guessed all the plot twists before they happened and was not impressed with the ending. The whole time I was reading this book I kept thinking I had read a similar story recently.

But! It’s a good story for those that want something similar to Captain America with The Witcher magic and brotherhood that hunt monsters.

However, if you want a better version of these tropes and similar story, look at the Broken Bones and Souls by LJ Andrews

Please get a new male voice actor

Enjoyed the story, but the audio was unbearable during the male parts. At first I thought it was the female actor trying to perform a male’s voice, then realized that wasn’t the case. Hard to listen to that voice (which sounded like a teenage boy going through puberty) while trying to envision the description of the Guardian and Zavier given in the book. Please find someone else for the sequel. I ended up mostly just reading on my Kindle.

Well. What the actual what was that ending?!

This book is insane. It’s so good!! On your toes the whole time and let me tell you. No. You have not figured it out. At not point while reading have you figured it out.
