Story
Scotland Yard Detective Superintendent Duncan Kincaid and his wife, Detective Inspector Gemma James, have been invited for a relaxing weekend in the tranquil Cotswolds, one of Britain’s most beautiful and historic regions. A centerpiece of this glorious fall getaway is a posh charity luncheon catered by up-and-coming chef Viv Holland. But a tragic car accident followed by a series of mysterious deaths could ruin her ascent. Each piece of information that surfaces makes it clear that the killer had a connection with Viv’s pub - and perhaps with Beck House itself.

Can Jane Tennison uncover a serial killer? The fourth in the Sunday Times best-selling Jane Tennison thrillers, Murder Mile is set in 1979 at the height of the 'Winter of Discontent' when economic chaos has led to widespread strikes across Britain. Jane Tennison, now a Detective Sergeant, has been posted to Peckham CID, one of London's toughest areas. As the rubbish on the streets begins to pile up, so does the murder count: two bodies in as many days. There are no suspects, and the manner of death is different in each case.

Waste of time. So dissappointing
Having recently rewatched and read widows and widows 2 I was excited to find this read/listen.
Excitement faded fast as plot was awful tedious and unrealistic. Kept stopping listening but persevered as believed LLP would not let me down. ........ she did.
Huge disappointment and lazy effort by Lynda.

Interesting
I pre ordered this book, eagerly waiting for book to come out. It was well worth the wait. The first few chapters went over last bit of 2nd book, when I got to the middle Chapters it got a bit tedious. With murders abounding, the twist about the diamonds was clever and totally unexpected. The ending was unfortunate, Esther got it sooo wrong. Right at end of book was so unexpected, shame what happened to the lasses.
