Cold Shoulder

This was an excellent book, with a lot of twists and turns. The characters were played very well and you didn't know whether you loved them or disliked them. I loved the ending though and definitely want to read more in the series. The narration was very good.

Over dramatized. Narrator should just read the story and not try to act it.

Voices were rough

Story line is good but the different voices/accents were terrible. That made it very hard to listen to with such bad narrations.

save yourself the pain

This book was 10 hours too long. The narrator used a voice for some of the characters that actually hurt my ears. The story itself could have been good if the dialogue between the characters was cut back. Will not go on to the other books by this narrator.

Get ready for some serious body shaming

This Author might benefit from some self - investigation. This series would benefit by not taking cheap shots at its own characters.
Also, what’s with the New York accents in LA??

Well written

I totally enjoyed the backstory on detective page. The description of her fall to alcoholism the depths in which she fell was very well described. Also background of her family and the alcoholism of her mother. I’m sure some people didn’t get that part but it definitely was the basis for her struggle and how she ended up where she was. Not everybody could understand that part of the back story. I enjoyed how she was able to pull her self out of the gutter so to speak, and use her brilliance to solve the crimes.

Squeaky voices.

Wish the narrators could keep the “squeak” or overly dramatic tone out of characters voices.

Narrator ruined the book!

The main character spoke like a normal person, every other character sounds like a screeching cartoon. So loud and irritating, not a normal voice. Horrible. I couldn’t finish the book. I really wanted to like the book but it’s impossible. Just sooooooooo ridiculous!!!!!!

Story well told bit very dark

This story is well wrotten and I think the performance i is good. It's a bit too dark for me.

Horrible

This book and its characters do not compare to others written by La Plante. I did get through it but I can't say that I enjoyed it.
