Publisher's summary

Ryan Steel is known in Snow Creek as the handsomest Steel brother with the most jovial personality. Now that his busy grape harvest and winemaking season is over, he's happy to spend time with his family and help his brothers, Talon and Jonah, celebrate their impending nuptials. The Steels are taking a well-deserved break from the conspiracy surrounding them...until an unlikely woman and a long-buried secret shatter Ryan's world.

Detective Ruby Lee has been on her own since she was fifteen. When her past collides with the Steel family's mysteries, she's determined to find the truth. She has her own issues, and she's not looking for a relationship, despite her all-consuming attraction to Ryan Steel. The gorgeous dark-haired man gets under her skin anyway...and he needs her.

Together they explore both of their histories, but those pasts could cost them a future.

Finally good Narrators

It took 7 books until they figured out the perfect combo for narrators. Great story, it;s a must read.

Cliffhanger

I can’t believe I’m still listening to this series. The story is okay, but has the slowest, most painfully drawn out delivery I’ve ever heard.

Another abrupt cliffhanger! Arghhhhhh!

Very well-defined deep back story that never seems to end. Ryan Steel and Ruby, 32 year old virgin, become unexpected lovers. Ruby loses her V card, and begins to make up for lost time. Scorching hot sex! the narrators were excellent, unlike books 4,5,6. but there is no book 8 or 9 on audio yet. I just hope to God they don't switch narrators again.

Disappointed

This book was so disappointing. What started as a very interesting series now seems like a story being dragged out.

I was SHATTERED by the end!

Shattered is an intense fast-paced continuation of the Steel Brothers saga focusing on the youngest, Ryan. In true Helen Hardt fashion, the story is expertly woven to keep you on the edge of your seat as you follow every twist and turn and surprise. I love the relationship between Ryan and Ruby and how they discover each other without really looking. By the time I got to the end my heart was racing. December is TOO far away! This is NOT a stand alone and the series should be read and listened to in order.

Repetitive nonsense with very little new to plot

This is the third brother Ryan’s attempt to move the narrative forward. Helen Hardt clearly needs an editor. This part of the story focuses on revelations concerning Ryan’s birth and focuses on his developing relationship With police detective Ruby Lee. Lots of poorly written sex scenes and more talking and saying nothing dialog but little action. Once again a ridiculous Cliffhanger. Just end this already. Not worth a credit. Maybe some day someone will produce a greatly abridged version since the bones of a good tale are there but there appears to be no end in sight with the “saga”. The narrators are fine with their own gender but struggle with voices in the opposite sex. A Duet Performance would have solved the problem but too late. I recommend a setting of 1.3 speed and shipping through the boring and repetitive parts.

Back to decent narrators *phew*

The story is continuing to grow on me and the narrator choices for Ryan and Ruby are a significant improvement over Jonah and Melanie. Talon and Jade are still my favorite.

Not my favorite

Of all the stories in this series this has been my least favorite. I did how ever like the last 5 chapters. It was starting to get really good then just ended.

It dragged on throughout most of the story. Hope the next one is better.

Ryan

I enjoy reading love suspense but I believe this book was more about love than the suspense. Every time I feel like it was going good, the sex comes in. I'm not saying I didn't enjoy it but found myself skipping instead.

Overall, I love the book.

I cannot wait until the next book.
