Publisher's summary

Bradford Steel never believed in fate...until he met the girl of his dreams.

As sole heir to the Steel ranch and fortune, Brad knows what his future holds. He'll marry and have children, but he's not cut out for love. Fate has other plans, though, when he meets college freshman Daphne Wade - an innocent and beautiful young woman who loves sunrises, animals, and the color yellow.

Daphne is on her own for the first time, and she vows to make the most of every minute. Never again will she fall victim to the anxiety and depression that plagued her through high school. Instead, she'll treasure the joy in even the most mundane and live her life to its fullest. When handsome senior Brad Steel shows an interest in her, she gathers her courage and dives in.

Their relationship moves more quickly than either of them expect, and before long, fate blooms into love. Brad is determined to eliminate all the obstacles in their way and protect Daphne. It’s a promise he’ll ultimately keep...no matter the cost.

Here We Go Again!

Why does Helen keep going on this dead horse. I was hoping she had a new twist on this story but all she does is take what we know from the other books and now shows us their before. We know the outcome, why not show us the future. Something that sticks our interest. I just don't know if I will purchase the rest as they come out. Time to make a new story line Helen. This one has been beat to death!

this was an excellent ending to this story. the back story of how the family came to be and the regrets of an old man. I loved the love story of the denizens of this family.

Great Prequel to a Great Series!

After reading the entire Steel Brothers series I didn't think the story of Bradford and Daphne would be this good but their story is better than I thought it would be.

FATE represents what happened when Brad and Daphne met. They knew they were fated to be together almost from the moment they met. Bradford is blinded by her beauty and innocence and wants to wrap his world around her and protect her. He has secrets though that involve the people we know will eventually destroy him. He wants Daphne but doesn't want that part of his life to effect her. Daphne is naive and inexperienced but knows she wants Bradford in her life. Daphne has shared her past with Brad but with the cliffhanger Helen left us with we understand that there is more to her past than even she knows. (I hate cliffhangers but I know that Helen will always have one so I wait until all 3 books are published before I read any of them.) I am looking forward to reading the next book in this trilogy to find out what her parents know about Daphne that she doesn't even know.

It was interesting meeting some of the characters when they were younger. Wendy of course is an insane maniac and a sexual predator. Even though we meet her Crazy in the earlier series, I am still surprised at her volatility. In this book we see Wendy as the predator who has her claws deep in Bradford's belly and won't let go. Bradford has tried to get away from Wendy but she just won't let him go. In order to protect his relationship with Daphne, Bradford must destroy his relationship with Wendy. Wendy vows her revenge and we all know that she is true to her word. Wendy is what happens when the Angel you want in your future clashes with the Devil you nurtured in your past.

The only one of the pedophile monster murderers we actually meet is Theo. Interesting that Theo meets Daphne for the first time as he is leaving a Tattoo parlor. It's the tattoo that helps Talon find Theo and helps Talon start to put together the details of his abduction. Even back then Theo was weird and wore disguises. Remembering all of this is making me want to reread the series.

We are told that the other two pedophile monster murderers, Tom and Larry are in Law School but we don't meet them. We know that Tom has a cold personality, that he is married and doesn't share his abundant financial situation with his wife. Larry is somewhat unattractive and is balding early. We also know that Larry is Daphne's half brother who she has never really met. Bradford has a regretful relationship with the three of them since high school and is ready to cut all ties. I'm not sure when Wendy became part of their business. I am curious to know what happened that caused these men to go bad...or maybe they were always bad. We'll see cause I'm moving on to the next book.

If you're interested in this series don't start with Fate. Start from the 1st book Craving. Each sibling has 3 books and because all of their books are published, the cliffhangers are not so awful.
Each book ranks 4 to 5 stars until you get to Marjorie and Bryce books. Their 3 books are about 3 to 4 stars.

Enjoy your next read!

Favorite Steel Brothers Book!!!

Fate is my most favorite book in the Steel Brothers Saga!! Brad and Daphne are so much more than I could have ever imagined. Brad's beautiful heart and Daphne's innocence completely shatter any preconceived notions I ever had about these characters. This mysterious and all-consuming romance is an absolute must listen!! (Excellent narrators👍)

Male reader

when the male reader read as if he was doing a female voice it sounded like a bad porn movie about drag queens.
