Publisher's summary

In the middle of Psalm 43, God offers us a dynamic invitation: Send out your light.

Prolific singer-songwriter Sandra McCracken believes we each have the opportunity to hear and answer this invitation. This book is written in three parts: Part one is the becoming, the creation, how God makes us and gives us an identity. Part two is the disorientation of loss, displacement, and the dark night of the soul. Part three is reorientation, how God brings us through the darkness and illuminates our path with Scripture, sending us out to take his light to others.

This has been the shape of Sandra McCracken’s life. Through it all, songs and Scripture have been there to light the way, helping her respond to God’s call. How will you respond to God’s call to send out his light?

Great Book

A conversational and thoughtful read. Enjoyed reading this book and listening to it. Sandra encourages readers to send out God’s light in them into the world around them through the gifts they have been given. I have been encouraged to keep dreaming how God can use me and what His dreams are for my life.

He restores my soul…

through His Word beautifully spoken by a vessel of clay. Sandra’s voice is like quiet water as she pours out lived truth. Thank you!

Valuable insights from a fellow sojourner

This is a powerful book. Good news for those of us walking through trials. Through tender and strong song lyrics, timeless scripture, and personal experiences of both blessing and sorrow, Sandra points us to Jesus. He is The One who knows us better than we know ourselves. She encourages us to walk the path of patience in faith, and trust God with our future. We’ve all been given gifts by our Creator. We are all valuable and loved. We all have something to give. She encourages us to be bold and watch for the ways God wants to use us because they are there everyday to see or to miss. She calls us forward and deeper into our faith, and to leave behind all that hinders. She reminds us to send out our light. The light given to us by God. This world definitely needs more us us doing just that for God’s glory. She reminds us of the truth that our security, rest, and even our home are found in Him. A very valuable book. Thank you Sandra for sharing your heart and hopes so freely with us.
