Story
The aim of this audiobook is to explain, carefully but not technically, the differences between advanced, researchlevel mathematics, and the sort of mathematics we learn at school. The most fundamental differences are philosophical, and listeners of this audiobook will emerge with a clearer understanding of paradoxicalsounding concepts such as infinity, curved space, and imaginary numbers. The first few chapters are about general aspects of mathematical thought.

Story
Were it not for the calculus, mathematicians would have no way to describe the acceleration of a motorcycle or the effect of gravity on thrown balls and distant planets, or to prove that a man could cross a room and eventually touch the opposite wall. Just how calculus makes these things possible and in doing so finds a correspondence between real numbers and the real world is the subject of this dazzling book by a writer of extraordinary clarity and stylistic brio.

Times table gives wrong answers
When the narrator said that 3 x 8 = 25, along with another multiplication, I realised that I could not listen any further.

Marred by wrong information, 3 x 8 is 24, not 25
Incorrect information. As on 13th February 2018, through the times table the audio book narrates "times eight equals twenty four" during the three times table which is wrong. it should be 25 which is jarring. Also how does 6 × 8 = 38?
