Story
Kidnappers grabbed Jenna in broad daylight, right in front of her children and their horrified classmates. Her family was issued an insane ransom demand: $25 million in cash and jewels, payable by the end of the school day, otherwise they’ll never see her again. As Jenna’s mother scrambles to gather the money, detectives Mo Butler and George Ortega follow the trail of the kidnappers, which will lead them through a sordid landscape of jealous lovers, broken dreamers, and twisted schemers. I’m an Empath, and yet I felt no empathy for the Husband
Perhaps my review says more about me than about him or the episode. Probably even.
I felt a sense of self-entitlement in him, that her adoration of him is something he takes for granted. I hope for their family’s sake he can figure it out.

WOW!
Although I have not had an affair this man sounds like my husband who was abandoned by his mother when he was younger and although she still alive he still has anger and resentment towards her. He also uses sex to feel close and now I am realizing that he needs to be held more then sex! Esther is amazing what a God send!

Writing the same review of the whole set of these
So I'm not going to review each of these individually. They're all a great listen and I can't recommend one over the others. If you're in a place in your relationship where you're not happy and looking for steps you could take these are a great place to start. Esther does one-off sessions with these people and helps these see what is going on, and what they can do to change things. You don't have to be going through the exact same scenario to see some common threads, and find bits and pieces that will be helpful to you.
I'm going to leave the same review for each of these as you should really listen to all of them, rather than trying to pick and choose which you might find relevant.

Healing after infidelity
Any additional comments?
Perel helped the couple rewrite their script with a beautiful message of healing, empathy, and trust. I loved her point about understanding with accountability -- that 1 culpability and 2 understanding the motivation for the affair are both indispensable. This was an amazing mediation. I'm so glad I listened.

Timely and poignant
So touching and concise. The couple got down to brass tacks. Deeper emotional wounding happening before affair; examination of own life messages. She's an excellent counselor!

I need empathy.
Another great recording by Esther. I cried as I heard Esther breaking through his anger and finding his vulnerability enough to finally be able to ask for what he DID want. Though he didn't know it was empathy it became clear that it was.
In my coaching practice this is often the piece missing in my clients communication tool box.

Another fantastic podcast. The only trouble is the beginning recordings (over the phone, I think) were really difficult to understand and when you throw in the wife's accent, I found that I couldn't understand what was being said. Once in the session it was better and you could put the missing beginning together.
