    "I need empathy."

Another great recording by Esther. I cried as I heard Esther breaking through his anger and finding his vulnerability enough to finally be able to ask for what he DID want. Though he didn't know it was empathy it became clear that it was.
In my coaching practice this is often the piece missing in my clients communication tool box.

    "Accountability.ownership"

Didn't like this one. This guy deserved more of a reassurance and explanation from his wife. Esther was soft and there seemed to be zero accountability, zero ownership and zero discipline on the wife's part. If you want to experiment sexually don't get married or at least tell the guy you're marrying you want an open relationship. She's having her cake and eating it too.

    "She missed a big point"

I *love* Esther Perel and I am really impressed with these sessions. In this one I think she really missed the fact that this guy is a perpetual victim and has some deep personal problems that need to be worked out. She brushed on it a bit but really dismissed it as a problem and that was a bit disappointing.

"The shoe is on the other foot"

This was a very interesting episode that many of us don't often here. The woman had the affair and the after effects it had on the husband. I think we all often forget men can feel hurt, anger, self doubt and the loss of self esteem. This episode was an eye opener to the feelings not only women can have, but men to. At times the feelings carry much more pain then a woman could ever imagine.

    "The best so far!"

This episode was amazing. As a society we need to understand the vulnerability of men and hold women accountable for their actions and how those actions hurt the men in our lives. Being a strong women is a whole package.

    "Healing after infidelity"
    Any additional comments?

Perel helped the couple rewrite their script with a beautiful message of healing, empathy, and trust. I loved her point about understanding with accountability -- that 1 culpability and 2 understanding the motivation for the affair are both indispensable. This was an amazing mediation. I'm so glad I listened.

Infidelity is an epidemic these days, formerly a deal breaker. It's hopeful there is a way through.
