A guide to the 60,000-year-old healing system of the Aborigines revealed through one man’s journey to overcome multiple sclerosis

  • Written at the request of the Aboriginal people with whom the author stayed
  • Explores the use of Dreamtime, spirit guides, and telepathy to discover and reprogram the subconscious motivations, thought patterns, and beliefs behind illness
  • Reveals how to tap in to healing support through the body/mind/spirit connection
  • Nautilus Silver Medal Winner and ForeWord Reviews Book of the Year finalist

In 1983, award-winning physicist Gary Holz was diagnosed with chronic progressive multiple sclerosis. By 1988, he was a quadriplegic. Then, in 1994, his doctors told him he had two years to live. Desperate and depressed, he followed a synchronistic suggestion and went to Australia to live with a remote Aboriginal tribe. Arriving in a wheelchair, alone, with almost no feeling left from the neck down, Holz embarked on a remarkable healing transformation of body, mind, and spirit and discovered his own gift for healing others.

Written at the request of the Aboriginal healers Holz worked with, this book reveals the beliefs and principles of the 60,000-year-old healing system of the Aborigines of Australia, the world’s oldest continuous culture. Chronicling the step-by-step process that led to his miraculous recovery, he explains the role played by thought in the creation of health or disease and details the five essential steps in the Aboriginal healing process. He explores the use of Dreamtime, spirit guides, and telepathy to discover and reprogram the subconscious motivations behind illness—a process that enacts healing at the cellular and the soul level, where the root of physical illness is found.

Supported by modern science, including quantum physics, Aboriginal medicine enables each of us to tap in to healing support through the power of the body/mind/spirit connection.

Critic Reviews

"What so many of us seek is not more information but guided wisdom that resonates with a deep place in our soul. One of love, nurturing, and truth that acts as another breadcrumb on the path to our true selves and healing at all levels. Robbie and Gary Holz’s footsteps on this sacred journey are what they share with readers in this book and in their work." (Rik Roberts, psychologist and retired journalist)

Secrets of Aboriginal Healing is more than a manual for understanding Aboriginal healing secrets. It is an inspiring memoir that provides an immediate soul-healing to anyone who reads it.” (Robert Simmons, Metaguide Magazine/Heaven & Earth Publishing, January 2014)

"Secrets of Aboriginal Healing demonstrates how - against all odds - an ordinary human being can participate in their own healing process and move from extreme illness to high-level wellness. A must read for anyone who wants to gain freedom from disease and other challenging circumstances." (Marilyn McGuire, founder of Nautilus Book Awards)

Heart warming story

A very heart warming story. Although the healing techniques were really nothing unusual or new, it was encouraging to see them working for Gary and interesting to watch his process., especially from an aboriginal experience.

Fantastic !!

Couldn’t put it down... great info I’ve heard before in different ways but always so helpful to revisit. Has inspired me to write down some of these affirmations from chapter 9 and apply it to my own ‘stuff’... thank you for sharing your gifts Robbie! I know we’ve all got them but mostly undeveloped or unaware it seems. Big love!!

Absolutely Amazing

I heard Robbie Holz last week on Coast to Coast AM & her interview really intrigued me. It was such an interesting story that it prompted me to buy this book. And let me tell you, it was absolutely amazing! That’s why I made that the headliner. Bc it’s true! Dr Gary Holz’s story is so beautiful.
It really touched me and it’s exactly what I needed to hear at this point in my life. And as a natural scientist, too, I can relate to the conflicts we face regarding how our training shapes our perceptions vs the true nature of this reality. Anyhow, I don’t want to spoil it or say too much more! I’ve said a lot BUT: Get it! It’s TOTALLY worth the read, the time, and the Audible credit!
I’m grateful for this, I enjoyed it & I hope that you do too! Can’t wait to try some of these modalities out!

Kismet

It was no accident when I stumbled across this book. I was searching for books on healing but his specific condition really hit home.

I was moved to tears several times throughout the book, not only overcome by emotion but release of my own blocks I'd been unknowingly carrying around with me for years.

This isn't just a moving tale but an antidote for what is ailing you. So grateful for Gary and Robbie. Thank you doesn't seem enough.

Disappointed

Felt like they wanted to give just enough info for you to want them as healers. Missing the gritty details.

An enchanting story of one man's healing.

I really enjoyed listening to this book. I loved Robbie's soft narration and could really feel Gary's character through her. I feel inspired to dig further down my own rabbit hole and try out the techniques explored here to further my own healing. Thank you for sharing the experience!

Curious...

As a Warrungnu woman, Aboriginal is not an appropriate way for this author to talk about where they've got this information from. The tribe would have a name.. respectfully they should be referred to by tribe name. Also it would help with legitimacy... it sounds good to say Aboriginal healing but not disclose who would A) give you authority to share this information and B) who these people are. If these people have helped you so much.. the least you can do is show proper respect.

Did he really go to Australia?

I think some of the general messages in this book are very useful but as an Australian I was left wondering if this actually authentic.
For starters 15 or even 50 mins out of Brisbane in any direction does not get you to ‘rock and sand’ that’s more like 5 hours. And cows are scarce? Sorry, what? All agricultural areas in any direction from Brisbane have cattle. But what irks me the most is that the acknowledgments didn’t even acknowledge the aboriginal people! There was no acknowledgement of country- nothing. How do we know or verify this guy isn’t just another white guy ripping off a culture for a ‘better self help story’? Maybe it’s true but I’m left with a lot of questions.

Great over view on healing

Highly recommend this book to anyone dealing with physical illness but also emotional issues. I don't think much of it has to do with aboriginal healing, still gives a great insight into there live and some of there old ways .

Nothing to do with aboriginal healing

This audiobook has nothing to do with aboriginal healing. It is not authentic. Would not recommend.

The most inspirational and transformative book ever.

Words cannot describe how powerful this book was to me. A book to activate awakening to our true selves. I am grateful for all that I also learnt about these Indigenous people. I feel blessed.

great message, questionable writing

this book has an amazing message, to listen to yourself, to believe that there is many ways in which to heal yourself and that's great! a few questionable parts. there is no real need for 'god' to be used so often and to speak as if aboriginal peoples have that same belief. also seems to be glossing over some things like it was written from ideas rather than actual experience.
However I will say this, this book has a great message and I would not cast it away just because of these minor things. the practices written about do work and the positive message is always a good thing.
