Publisher's Summary

Secretly hooking up with the team captain's sister was a bad idea. In my defense, the first time I saw her, I didn't know who she was. Kind, gorgeous, a little naïve. Ginny brightened my world from day one. I knew I was no good for her. She was just out of a relationship, and I had a reputation for having a new girl in my bed every weekend.

I tried to do the right thing. Honest. I'm the one who insisted we should be just friends. That lasted about as long as you'd expect.

But Ginny? She's the best - best friend, best everything. So yeah, hooking up with the team captain's sister wasn't a great idea. Would I do it again? In a heartbeat.

New Ice Hockey Romance to fall in love with

Loved the new round of Valley U characters and intertwining of the beloved Valley U Basketball Crew. We were introduced to Heath in The Fake, Nathan's little brother. I'm a sucker for college sports romances, hockey especially so I'm super excited for the next book in this series, possibly Adam's Story??? Narration was great only thing that bugged me was Edwin's portrayl of a Minnesota accent, almost cringeworthy, thankfully its minimal. Great listen, don't hesitate on using a credit, worth it!

Such a great audiobook!

I swooned. I laughed. I loved. I couldn’t get enough of Heath and Ginny. They had amazing chemistry in and out of the bedroom. The author has once again created a phenomenal sports romance that will have you captivated from the first few pages right to the end.

Ginny and Heath find love

What a great start to a new series. This is book one of Campus Nights and it is a spin off from Smart Jocks which I absolutely loved.

This book gives us Heath who is Nathan's little brother from the Smart Jocks Series. We watched Heath as he grew up and came to Valley U to be a hockey star. Now the team captain's little sister has come to Valley and he no longer wants to just hook up with random girls, he wants to spend time with Ginny even if it's just to talk.

Ginny is tired of being Adam's little sister and known as baby Payne, she wants to spread her wings but she just got out of a relationship and she isn't looking for romance, that is until she gets to know Heath and finds there is so much more to this man than she first thought.

I loved the characters and the story and just fell right back into Valley U life. This is a book about college students but it is so much more. There is depth and emotion and real life going on with these characters. I love how this author pulls me in and wraps me up with all the characters. It was fun and sweet and I just loved it and highly recommend it.

The book is great on it's own then you add Joe Arden and Vanessa Edwin to narrate it and it's a double win. Loved their voices and they were Heath and Ginny for me.

5 stars for sure.

Beautiful, Emotional, Fun, Sweet, and Sexy!

Beautiful cover! This is the first book in the Campus Nights series, a new College Hockey Romance set in the Valley U world. This is a spin-off Series of the amazing Smart Jocks Series. You don't have to read this Series first. I love these Series with intertwined characters! Heath and Ginny's friends to lovers romance is beautiful, emotional, fun, sweet and sexy. Ginny is lovely and a little naive. Heath is handsomely sexy and caring. They are perfect together. I love to follow them in their slow burn romance. Joe Arden and Vanessa Edwin did a great job with the narration. I enjoyed it. Rebecca Jenshak never disappoints. Looking forward to Bad Crush, Adam's story!

4.5 Irresistible Stars!

What a sweet, emotional, and steamy, friends-to-lovers romance! Ginny had made plans to start college with her boyfriend, except he had other plans. Now she is trying hard to make friends and find a direction she never considered before. He brother is a senior and the captain of the hockey team. He wants to protect his sister and includes her in all his activities. Heath is his roommate and teammate. He is attracted to Ginny right off but bro code makes him hold back. He and Ginny become friends and have fun together. But soon neither can deny the fiery attraction and chemistry heating up between them. But with so much on the line, can Heath risk his friendship with Ginny and her brother if things don't work out? I really loved Heath, he was so charming, kind and caring. He really cared about his friends and teammates and was so sweet with Ginny. I loved Ginny's growth from lost in the beginning to a strong, confident young woman. She and Heath were so much fun together. I also love all his teammates who were funny, supportive and loyal, I can't wait to find out more about them!
Joe Arden, and Vanessa Edwin narrate this fun, and steamy story flawlessly. I loved how they nailed these characters so perfectly, making them their own. I was lost in their deliveries as they easily made me feel all the fun, angst, passion, heartbreak, joy, and love these characters felt.
What a great start to this new sports romance series. I can't wait for more from Valley U in Bad Crush, book #2 in the Campus Nights series!

Such a sweet college romance

This book kept the biggest smile on my face and was so hard to put down. I absolutely loved Ginny and Heath so much! The obvious attraction and chemistry between them just adds to them being friends for their own reasons. But once the chemistry becomes too much to ignore they become my favorite couple from Rebecca Jenshak’s books.

With Ginny’s brother being Heath’s roommate and hockey captain and it adds an element to their friendship then relationship. Especially since the relationship starts beneath his nose without him knowing things have changed.

There are so many elements to this book that I loved like the traditions between friends, the fierce loyalty between characters and the hype room. The group of hockey players always together show a fierce brotherhood and the girls across the hall totally take Ginny under their wing and become fast friends.

This book is low angst and a fun college book about a hockey hunk and a girl who doesn’t want anything to do with boys. I was sucked in from the beginning and couldn’t put it down.

2.5 stars. Underwhelming

A giggly mundane girl gets with a very typical hockey player. They do boring college stuff. The end. I didn’t feel remotely connected to the characters or invested in their relationship development. It just seemed like a relationship they would have during college before they met the person of their dreams a couple of years later. I was bored for most of the story and nearly didn’t finish it, and there were so many pointless scenes where nothing happened and it just made the book a real slog to get through.

Hockey and romance, what’s not to love!

I got sucked in right away! With compelling characters, witty conversations and a lovely romance, I loved this book.

I usually have a hard time relating to much younger characters–here they’re in college. But they’re so adorable that I didn’t mind. They don’t act like older people, nor do they act like younger kids. They’re just very young adults who discover life and love. It was nice to see them change.

I found a bit of hockey in my hockey romance, and I enjoyed that a lot.

It was a bit sexy. There’s not a lot of intimate scenes, but there’s a tension between Ginny and Heath that builds up and makes for a steamy read anyway. I also loved the flirting, it was cute and funny.

My main problem was with the onslaught of characters from other books that I didn’t care about, right at the end. They weren’t necessary, just a wink for the dedicated readers, and there were enough new characters to not need others.

It’s an interesting start of a new series. Hockey and romance, what’s not to love!

I've listened to the audiobook, and Joe Arden and Vanessa Edwin gave a new life to this story that I enjoyed. Vanessa especially--her trembling voice made me feel everything. Definitely an audiobook I recommend!

Audiobook enhanced this great story!

I read the ebook first but when I saw that this book features Joe Arden and Vanessa Edwin, I had to listen. Well, I have to say that the story itself is awesome but having these narrators totally elevated the story itself. if you've ever listened to these narrators before, you know, they are some of the best of the bunch. Joe Arden has such an effortless way of infusing his emotion into his voice. Vanessa Edwin did awesome as Ginny. Her male voice sounded a little more forced but overall, it didn't take away from my enjoyment of the story.

First, about the story. This is a new adult sports romance following hockey player, Heath (and brother to Nathan from Rebecca Jenshak's prior series, the Smart Jocks series. If you haven't listened to that series, definitely put those books on your TBL! They are amazing, especially the Fadeaway with Teddy Hamilton!)

This book- it made me swoon. Heath was a sweetheart. He was always so protective and sweet to Ginny, the sister of his team captain. They started out more as friends as both aren't sure they want to get into a relationship. But the relationship develops pretty organically and I love their banter and just their sweetness towards each other. There are some steamy parts, of course, but overall, their relationship is most defined by love and respect. The angst came from issues associated with their pasts, especially Heath's, but overall, this was a low angst romance. There were many moments when I burst out laughing and I NEED to read Maverick's book when Rebecca Jenshak writes it. Can't wait for the next one!!
