Maggie Cole story goes into the depths of the mind of Anna who is verbally, psychologically and physically abused by her boyfriend of 5 years. Mitch did a number on her, he was a tyrant , controlling her life in every aspect. She believed his actions towards her was all her fault. How he was keeping her secluded effected her emotionally from family and friends.
Her brother brought her to Chicago from NY to live with him.
Anna was shattered a shell of a person. She had no self esteem left, she felt unworthy, no faith in herself, and always questions her daily activities. She never had choices, Mitch made them all for her.
Dimitri has a dark past, he had his demons, but would never physically or emotionally damage a woman. He treasured Anna, mind body, and soul. He knew he had to be patient with her and get her to trust him. Dimitri was determined to bring out her light. To make her realize she is beautiful, and deserves a man to love her the way she should be. Oh how their sparks fly. Their love is magical, hot and steamy.
Wen Ross and Kai Kennicut narration is perfection. They bring depth to each character. I can feel each moment of emotion, anguish, anger, torment, throughout the story. Thank you for bringing this story to life. I was gifted this audio and offered my honest review.

Beautiful Story!

This is the sixth book in the It's Complicated Series, a Billionaire Romance. I like this series. Dmitri and Anna's story is emotional, and beautiful. Dmitri is powerful, handsome, and protective. Anna is beautiful, and a strong survivor. The storyline is intriguing, and captivating. Wen Ross and Kai Kennicott did a good job with the narration. I enjoyed it.

Another fantastic book in the series! Dimitri and Ana are great characters and it’s fantastic to see the characters from other books as well! The storyline, writing and dialogue are excellent. The narrators are stellar as always!

Love it!!

Let me start with it is a bit triggering for me but not to the point I couldn't enjoy it. This was my second book in this series and it was a surprise about some characters because my first series ever from Maggie was Mafia Wars and believe me this book was a really happy surprise even if some scenes were a bit uncomfortable. Personally I think this book would be a perfect introduction to Mafia Wars. This story is about a man falling for a married abuse woman but with the help of her family finally is free but even after leaving she has to deal with the ghost of her past and Dimitri an alfa man to the max but at the same time a sweetheart towards Anna but for them to work out they have to open up in everyway and wasn't easy for her fight for independence without her pushing Dimitri away. This story does finish with a HEA. I really enjoyed this. Both Wen and Kai were perfect.
I really recommend this book as a standalone but if you want to start the Mafia War series this is a great start.

A smoking hot story!

I loved that this book not only concluded the It's Complicated series but also kicked off Mafia Wars! The story was steamy, action packed and completely captivating. Wen and Kai are 2 of my all time favorite narrators and they did a fantastic job as always on this one! I highly recommend listening to this one ASAP

Their story breaks your heart before it makes you believe again. *sigh*

I despised Mitch coming into this book, but I absolutely loathe him now. Having witnessed this behavior first-hand (not the recipient), it's heartbreaking on so many levels. 😢 Dmitri may not be a saint, but I love how he looks out for her even before they meet, and then works to unveil the confident woman she was before Mitch.

Having read Mafia Wars first, I knew much of the story. Actually reading (listening to) their entire story was wonderful and it also felt a bit like coming home to so many familiar faces (from this series and MW). 🤗❤

Dmitri is everything I expected and more. His love shines like a beacon in the night and Anna is definitely the ship he safely brings to port. How he addresses Mitch is utterly priceless!

I received an author's copy of the audio book. The narrators are Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross. I love this duo! Russian accents are included and it's wonderful. 😍

Awesome Story & Narration🎧 Captivating Perfection!

Maggie Cole pens another amazing novel set in her “It’s Complicated” series, a series of standalone novels with interconnected characters. This is my fourth book and while each book is as amazing and enjoyable as the others, each for their own reason, but this one takes me back to her “Mafia Wars” world, the Ivanovs and great to see her two series worlds merge. Fair to say a great ending to one series and the beginning of another, though it would be great to see more books from both series. This book brings us Anna Monroe, Chase’s sister, and Dmitri Ivanov’s story and wow, what a story it is. It not only captivated your attention from start to end, but it tugs on your heartstrings and takes you to the edge of your seat too. Anna Monroe was with Mitch, who has been a major a-hole throughout the series and his treatment of Anna reflects how big of one he is. He physically and mentally abused her and her brother comes to rescue her from a terrible situation and bring her back with him to Chicago. She needs to start over and she catches a break when Vivian introduces her to Dmitri, who needs a designer for his new buildings. Dmitri remembers Anna, he had seen her in the restaurant when she was with Mitch who was nasty to her. She captured his eye then, and he is even more interested now. He could see her ex did a number on her and her self-esteem, but he made it his business to help build it up again. But will she be able to handle what he is involved in and survive in his world? I loved how everything played out in this brilliantly plotted story, there is plenty of drama, heartfelt emotions, a touch of angst and some steamy romance. Maggie Cole, thank you for another amazing story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧 📚🎧 And for the wonderful narration, Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross were the perfect cast to bring these characters and their story to life. They have a complete understanding of the characters they are portraying, give each a voice that suits their character’s persona, accent and all, sounding believable and just as I picture the character to sound. Ross nails it as Dmitri, Russian accent and goes all alpha when called for Kennicott’s Anna was spot on, she grasped her insecurities and built up her confidence when her character strengthened. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and projected them into their performance, making you feel every single one. These entertaining storytellers are a pleasure to listen to and their narration enhances the story to another level. Thank you for another exceptional listen.

I thought reading this book was steamy, hearing it is even hotter! Wen Ross and Kai Kennicott bring the words to life. It’s as if you’re watching a movie. Hearing the voices brings liquid fire to your veins. Dimitri’s Russian accent is panty melting! Ana with her sweet voice makes you believe in love. I am so glad I finally got to hear it!!!
