Publisher's Summary
Stan Weir is mourning a tragic loss when he meets a mysterious nine-year-old girl, who claims to be the reincarnated spirit of his late wife. Marcy Keef is a single mother trying to make ends meet when her daughter Erin starts describing 'past life memories'. Neither wants to believe Erin, but as violent secrets are revealed, the truth becomes harder to deny.
With echoes of Stephen King, Second Skin is a propulsive thriller about grief, guilt and truths better left unknown.

Terrible twist
The last 10 per cent ruined the whole book. As a reader, I feel my general intelligence is stepped on. When the cell phone of 9 years ago can still work perfectly without charging and a nine-year-old girl can play such a game, I lost all the appetite and missed my precious time.

Don’t want to give it away but...
Overall the story is good but it became more unbelievable that a old device being able to be opened after that many years without a charger...too much
Also the author had a strange obsession with farts. Used them often in the story even at times when it couldn’t make sense “the ac worked as well as a fart in ...”

Awful
Great premise, horrible implementation. Started great and was very intriguing, but the twist at the end totally ruined it. No child would ever behave this way or have the tech skills to pull off such a huge lie. No rational adult would reward the kid’s twisted behavior. No adult would ever take a cell phone off a dead body. No police dept would fail to recover said phone. Total crap. What a waste of time!!

Great little listen
The story is a tragic one in many ways but it doesn't leave you feeling hopeless. It's a great look into how flawed we are but how those sometimes terrible parts of us don't make us terrible as a whole. The richness of the characters is what I enjoyed most about this book. Even though it isn't very long you get a good sense off everyone. The end leaves you with enough to imagine something better is coming...

Started good, and then was meh
The story was great until about three-quarters off the way through, then went downhill fast. The twist ending was like, "whuuuut", and not in a good way. It's like lighting the string of a firework.. you're watching the fire reach the firework... and then PFFT.. nothing!
It's not that bad, but not that good either.

I just had to read this in one go
The twist at the end was a complete surprise.
The author had me faithfully tuned-in to the initial premise and I did not have an inkling of the truth. This is the most enjoyment I have got out of a book for a while. Recommended.

I loved it.
I really love this author and the narrator was pretty good for this one, not too distracting. the only character the narrator didn't nail was Barb in my opinion.
