Publisher's summary

He's both feared and admired, respected and despised. Boba Fett is the galaxy's most successful bounty hunter. Now he finds himself the hunted in the oldest game of all: survival of the fittest.

The once powerful Bounty Hunter's Guild has been shattered into warring factions. Now the posting of an enormous bounty on a renegade Imperial stormtrooper is about to start a frenzy of murderous greed.

Hoping to fuel rumors of his death, Boba Fett abandons his ship, Slave I, and sets out to claim the prize. Yet his every move leads him closer to a trap set by the cunning Prince Xizor. Fett will die before becoming Xizor's pawn in the Emperor's war against the Rebels. And he may have to. For in order to gain his freedom, he must outwit a sentient weapon that feeds on human spirits. Then he must escape a galaxy of deadly enemies who want to make the rumors of his death a reality.

Critic reviews

"What a great audio performer is Anthony Heald! He wends his way through a narrative replete with tongue-twisting alien names and never once slips up. He gives full-flavored performance of humans and aliens, spider-like and otherwise, and is instantly believable. And behind him run the thundering Star Wars music and the intricately detailed Star Wars sound effects - the latter so finely tuned that even apparently distant and faint sounds are intensely real." Not the full story

Shortened version of the story. It would of been better if they used the full material. The voice actor/narrator did a great job!

Abridged is better

I’ve loved this trilogy since it first came out, and listen to the stories from time to time. Great story, Fett is given his due. Voice acting is excellent. K.W. Jeter is a phenomenal writer! I wish more Star Wars books were abridged, I don’t want to be stuck on an 11-14 hour long story for 2 weeks listening to them when I can find the time.

Great Plot Line, fits great with the Series

Would you consider the audio edition of Star Wars to be better than the print version?

Too short when abridged?

Who was your favorite character and why?

Boba Fett gets away with everything, and makes everyone else he deals with mad...and funny, too.

What about Anthony Heald’s performance did you like?

Excellent performance, well paced, voice variation good.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes

Any additional comments?

KW Jeter can put humor into these stories, and make you laugh in the middle of all the terrifying adventures... good writer and storyteller.

Great middle chapter, better audio then first book

This book is great. The audio is a lot better then the first book in this series, and this novel is action packed.
