Spot on!

I thought this book was spot on from what I know and understand about schizophrenia. Also , I think it would be very helpful in helping people understand and be supportive for any family members or self with this condition.

Very Informative

Puts all aspects of schizophrenia in perspective. Clear understanding. Take the fear out of what to expect.

Inconsistent and disappointing

I only bought this out of general interest, and found the material poorly presented and organized for large portions. I find it hard to imagine this being a helpful book for the friends and family of the newly diagnosed. Advice for family and friends doesn't even start until Chapter 5. Prior to that there is an odd, impersonal tone that feels flat (ironic). Reads like a pamphlet at times, making overly generalized statements with no mention of references. And once it does actually get to advice for family and friends much of the guidance sounds cursory, and is even contradictory at times, and is anything but heartening. Not completely without value, but I would be hesitant to recommend.

100% generic information. Any science fans will be very disappointed. However, if generic information is what you want then it's tolerably (only because it's so short).

well written basic information. Does not go into a lot of detail but it answers your primary questions. I found it very helpful.

Helpful overview of a often overdramatized disorder

This is a great, short and informative guide covering various aspects of schizophrenia and its subtypes and related disorders. I'd recommend anyone wanting to know more to share this.

This book was encouraging. Evidence-based supported. This book will give you excellent insight to the parameters of symptoms and the best treatment plan for person's affected with schizophrenia and the families.
