Quirky and fun-loving American heiress Daisy Bowman is the last unmarried Wallflower. Her exasperated father has informed her that if she can’t find a husband by the end of her third London season, she will be forced to marry a man she hates—the ruthless entrepreneur Matthew Swift.

Daisy is horrified. A Bowman never admits defeat, so she decides to do whatever it takes to marry someone . . . anyone . . . other than Matthew. What she doesn’t count on, however, is Matthew’s unexpected charm, or the blazing sensuality that soon flares beyond both their control. And Daisy discovers that the man she has always hated just might turn out to be the man of her dreams.

But when a scandalous secret is uncovered, it could destroy both Matthew and a love more passionate and irresistible than Daisy’s wildest fantasies.

Having A non American narrator try American accents is disturbing. In this one a Boston accent comes across like a Brooklyn gangster. Annoying in the extreme. This I have heard from a number of them and really ruins the narration.

Decent story but…

I’m a fan of this author‘s work and have listened to many of her books. I really definitely miss Landor as the voice actor for these past two in the series. The American accents are too campy, the whispers of the males are barely able to be heard, and I think it’s just overacted in dialogue a little bit. That being said, I also understand that I don’t have the skills to be a voice actor, and therefore I struggle with constructive criticism in this area.

Wonderful story, struggling with the voice acting

I have listened to this series 3 times because I love it so much. BUT...the the male American accents in this audioboom are horrendous and are painful to listened to. I force myself to stick with it for the series but I hate this particular one.

Love This Series

Story is engaging as the "Wallflowers” story continues. Unfortunately, the narrator has underwhelming Boston and New York (American) accents. In fact it was quite distracting at times.

Bad American accents

Author overuses the word sardonic too much in this series. Once you hear it, you can't stop hearing it.
