Publisher's Summary

Kennedy Cross had her heart broken early in life. It wasn't someone or something who betrayed her - it was her own body. Despite it being all she's ever wanted, Kennedy will never feel her baby's feet kick from the inside out. Having been pronounced infertile at only 18, she redirected her life the best way she could.

Eight years and a degree later, Kennedy is one of the most-loved first grade teachers at Rock Falls Elementary School. It doesn't matter that her college boyfriend left her because he wanted children of his own. She has 22 of the most gorgeous six-year-olds, and she wouldn't have it any other way.

Jackson Steele deals only in extremes. He falls victim to manic episodes lasting for days, sometimes weeks at a time, sending him reeling from volatile highs to devastating lows. It's a living hell just being inside his own mind, and that hell has taken everything he's ever loved away from him. But what if, this time, it gives him something? An untimely gift from God and a brunette with legs eight miles long will bring him unforeseen joy - and his most challenging test yet.

What happens when circumstances of life threaten the one thing both Jackson and Kennedy love? Saving Steele from himself may prove to be too much for Cross to bear.

Sweet Love Story!

This book was super sweet. I loved seeing the relationship between Ryker & Jackson grow. The beginning of Jackson & Kennedy's relationship was a little odd because it was quick and a little more than just bossy. Their relationship grew on me real quick though. I've really enjoyed this series up to this point and can't wait for the next book!

Narration was great!

Too many

I shouldn’t have listened to the whole series together I don’t think. In some ways I loved it, but it just got to be too much with the macho man possessive and the weak female characters. I liked them all, but the last 2 books, especially, had female main characters who just went along with what the guys wanted like they had no say in things. “You declare I’m yours despite hardly knowing each other or having any real conversations yet? Ok. I’m moving in with you? Ok. We’re having sex now because you say so? Ok.” I get it - it is hot to a point, but it was also quite cheesy and started feeling yucky. Great series overall, though. (Glad it was included and didn’t require use of credits, though.)

Best Audiobook, Story and Narration of 2016

This book will probably shock a lot of people. Most know that I'm all about my smutty reads/listens and paranormal. However, every now and then you stumble upon a book that resembles your life or obstacles you've faced, that you can't help but become one with the book and the characters.

Anne Jolin is such an amazing author, and she really gave me the feels with this book. I spoke a little more about it in my LIVE video yesterday. Both her characters faced life altering circumstances, but regardless of their situations, they found what they needed in each other. Lucy Rivers as Kennedy nailed this performance. I cried, big tears and snot and felt the raw emotions that erupted from Lucy's depiction of Kennedy. In fact, I understood exactly how she felt. Aiden captured Jackson so well and gave me a deeper look into a man who is suffers from a mental illness. I don't know how much research, if any was done, but I felt the pain, the darkness and Jackson's determination to push through past demons. Great delivery by Snow.

Please give the Rock Falls Series a try. It will not disappoint!

TOP OF THE LINE!

What did you like best about this story?

This is by far one of the best books I have had the pleasure of listening to in along time! I have read the whole Rock Falls Series and have enjoyed each and everyone of them, but this one was particularly wonderful! The whole story touched on many differant subjects of everyday life, I don't usually write reviews but felt compelled after listening to this book, it was a moving and real story with a little fairy tale thrown in! I would highly recommend this book if you are looking for an exciting, gripping down to earth story.

Couldn't get through it

The series is good, and enjoyed the books so far. I'm not at all opposed to f-bombs but it's as too distracting from the story.

Great

The story was good, the characters and the narration had me laughing, close to tears, and everything is between.
The only con was that there was a lot of swearing.

fab series of books

the narrations have been excellent throughout this whole series, I'm glad we got the duel POV in these last 2 books. I love the way the friendships have been woven throughout the series and we get to hear snippets of what's happening with each of the other couples. Despite the struggles some of them face, they are a tight knit group and support each other. I'm sad we don't get Colt's book as it would have finished up the series nicely, I believe it was planned but has never been released on audible.
I'm sure in 'real life' their are a few red flags with the characters but the books were about giving others the opportunity to change/improve behaviours by finding someone who made them want to become a better person, or someone who accepts that not everyone is perfect and will love you regardless. i like many others listen to this style of books for escapism from my own 'real life' and I thought the books were thoroughly enjoyable.

Liked this 5th book the best in the series

I enjoyed this book out of the series more than the rest because it gave a better view of living with a mental health, both for the person and those that love them...not easy.

Absolutely the best series

I absolutely loved this series. It was a roller coaster ride of emotion, suspence, drama and the best HEA. But honestly the best book out of all was Saving Steele. It was emotional, true to what mental issues some people struggle with and how it makes them stronger, but wow, I cried at the end of this book, it was the best and most heart warming Ending. My absolute favorite and I could not have asked for a better one

The best one yet!

I wasn’t going to read this book because I loved the first four so much I was sure Jackson’s story would not be a good one I’m afraid I’d already judged and written him off as no good; however each book surprised me as they were such good stories and they progressively got better which I didn’t think could be possible. I thought Jackson’s story could not be redeemed after what he put Hannah through in the first book but was I wrong I absolutely loved Jackson’s journey the most, such a beautiful emotive story I’m sorry it’s come to an end.

I would like a story on Kennedey’s brother Colt I think it would be a belter! Loved the narrators Aiden Snow was fantastic and Anne Jolin is a powerful writer will definitely read more once I’ve gotten over these characters I’m now bereft!

JJ

I don’t normally give a book five stars because there is always a part that feels like too much of a stretch even for fiction. However the final book in this series was by far the best, believable, heartbreaking and reaffirming that love can give you your own version of a fairytale.

The voice actors made this story believable and perfect emotion.

Beautifully written and the child’s perspective was heart wrenching and warming at the same time.

Jackson’s inner battle with his mental health was written with understanding which can sometimes get lost in fiction.

I laughed, cried and finished the book with a smile, thank you Anne Jolin for a beautiful story.

Best story in the series

Have enjoyed all the books in the series. They can all be standalone but I enjoy knowing all the characters and hearing their stories. This was the best story for me, the right balance of darkness and happiness and believable. The narrators were very good and especially the child, much better than the usual.

This one had it all

While I love the angst and suspense that has been in at least 2 books of this series I really enjoyed This story of Jackson and Kennedy.
I'm not normally into books that centre around children but anne keeps this writing light where it needed to be and a little deeper when it had to be for it was a sensitive topic for both the hero and the Heroine and I thought she wrote it with Sensitivity.
Loved that Aiden and Lucy were equally narrating as they do an awesome job
Anne writes the heroine As a quirky and bubbly woman which is exactly what the hero needs And I'm even surprised to say that she wrote some really funny comedy bits that made me laugh out loud.
All in all I really liked this story And would put it up there with Beth and brax.
Out of all the books in this series, And even though it was written slightly lighter, the addressed sensitive topics was done in a very tasteful way,
nice,clever and engaging
