Mafia Romance

Ahhh the way I have loved listening to these fantastic performances in Savage Promises. Returning to this world, falling head over heels in love with these characters, and being immersed in the Quinlan’s chaos has been incredible with so many of my favorite tropes!

Loved this Irish Mafia love story… girl (Lennox )loves older brothers best friend (Shane), they share one kiss 💋 and poof 💨 it was over before it began. Girl heartbroken 💔. Years later they are brought together for an arranged marriage. Not hers , but her younger sister (Neve) to the love of her life , Shane. And so it begins , wedding plans and keeping mafia organization on top. Very enjoyable listen, Sean and Avery did such a great job with all the emotions and accents. It was like watching a movie and characters coming to life. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🔥🔥🔥🌶️🌶️🌶️. Deborah Garland . 👏🏻👏🏻

Not Your Typical Mafia Book!

Lennox never forgot Shane. Not after that one night on her 18th birthday. That one moment they both said 'finally' and gave into their feelings. But just as quickly as it happened, it was over. Years pass. No contact. No closure.

When their paths cross again years later, it should’ve been a second chance. Instead, he’s being arranged to marry her younger and quite immature sister, Neve, who has zero interest in him and even less interest in marriage. But family duty runs deep, and Lennox steps into the role of supportive sister, even if it means helping plan a wedding to the one man her heart never let go of.

This book is packed with angst. But it isn’t just angst for angst’s sake. The push and pull, the will they or won't they? The kind of ache that sits in your chest long after you finish reading. And add in the plot twists that Deborah loves to shock readers with and you have a mafia love story unlike any other I've read before.

Sean Masters' deep, gravely Irish accent for Shane is subtle and sexy and totally swoon-worthy.
Avery Caris' soft voice for Lennox is a perfect match for Sean. Her performance is filled with emotion that never feels forced. It tore at my heartstrings with it's raw honesty.

Savage Promises is an example of everything I love about Deborah Garland’s writing. She takes well-known tropes and makes them entirely her own. There is nothing predictable about her writing. Coupled with narration from Sean and Avery, it became more than a book. It truly became a reading experience.

Intense Mafia Romance

Wow! The narrators did an amazing job. I could feel all the emotions and turmoil of Lennox and Shane. Talk about intense, I was literally on the edge of my seat at times. This book is full of family and mafia drama, mutual pining, angst and lots of steam. Two irish families on the outs agree to an arranged marriage. Of course nothing goes as planned and thank goodness for that. Shane and Lennox have amazing chemistry that can't be denied no matter how hard they try. I just love how growly and possessive Shane is and Lennox is such a strong and confident woman who truly holds her own with him even in the worst of times. They definitely have some bumps in the road but that makes the journey to their HEA so much sweeter. I highly recommend this 5 star must read book.

I love this series..I just wish the women weren't so wishy wishy. lying and hiding stuff

Mafia Age Gap Romance

Savage Promises by Deborah Garland is a mafia age gap romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Avery Caris and Sean Masters. This is the second book in the Quinlan Empire series and can be read as a standalone.

I love Deborah's books. She does a great job pulling me into the story and I can't help but binge them in one sitting. I really enjoyed the chemistry between Shane and Lennox. I loved getting both of their points of views throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.

I can't wait for the next book in series Lovely Venom to be released on October 3, 2025, so I can get Connor's story.

Sean and Avery did an amazing job on the narration. They both really know how to bring a story to life. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.

I would recommend this book if you're looking for a mafia romance, age gap romance, or forced marriage romance.

Great Continuation of the Quinlan Empire

Lennox and Shane’s story is wholly different from Griffin & Ava but still a wonderful story.

The fact that Lennox has to watch the love of her life, Shane, agree to be married to her baby sister, Neve, gets your heart hurting from the beginning. But in a true mafia twist of fate, Shane figures out how to take Lennox as his bride. It is truly a devious plan.

Who would’ve known that a cat named Hawk would steal the humorous part of this story. For a mafia boss to leave his devious dealings to come home and find a lost cat for his wife just says it all.

To see Shane truly come to know what love is and to keep Lennox as his wife is a great story. Of course there are so me great bad guy moments that make this a marvelous mafia romance.

Cannot wait for the story of Connor and his female DEA agent.
