Publisher's summary

He’s a savage.

Damien Cross treats New York City as if it’s his personal playground.

He sees.

He touches.

He conquers.

He holds the fate of my family in his hands.

And makes a deal with me I can’t refuse.

He’ll forgive my father’s debt if he can have something in exchange: me.

I promised myself I wouldn’t get addicted, but nothing is guaranteed when you make a deal with a savage.

Now this debt is my cross to bear.

Awesome

The story was pretty good. It was slow to start, but it picked up towards the middle. The narrators are new to me and take a little bit of getting used to. It was intriguing and kept my interest. I thought it was going to be the only book I read in this series, but now that there is a cliffhanger. I definitely have to read the next book.

Conflicted

Listened to the first 3- used a credit for book 3 because they are cliffhangers. I definitely got sucked into the story even as it became more and more outrageous.
Spiciness was flat considering the H owns a sex club. The narration also contributed to the anticlimactic scenes.

Different narrators would do these books great justice, especially the female narrator. If I wasn’t so invested in the story, I would have stopped listening because of her.

I did like that the h was strong and independent. That’s probably what kept me listening. If she was poor and desperately dependent, the storyline would basically be revolting. 🤷‍♀️
I did appreciated the change in H behaviors, which is to be expected with HEA endings.

So- I’m glad I got through the first three but I won’t use credits to get through the series

Cliffhanger and juvenile characters

The narrators have nice voices and the story was easy to listen to. I didn't realize (though I should have) that this story would end on a cliffhanger. Then I realized that the story of these two characters is told across three short books. I can't stand when authors do this. It's not an epic story and should have been one book.

Also, the whole premise of why she has to do this isn't believable based on the players involved. The dialog and emotions are juvenile and I just don't care enough to continue.

Intriguing

Loved this story and the characters. It has mystery and suspense which had me wondering who is the person following Anais and Damian”s secret on his ex girlfriend.

Vanilla you're mine contract

Its your typical "youre mine for 30 days contract". They elude to kink ..... but there wasnt any, in the entire book.

M/f, crime, over 21 adult female, vanilla

Reads like a first draft

This wasn’t good. Not enough details and very predictable. I’m glad it was a free losten

A bad combination

A combination of a bad story, horrible storytelling skills, and bad acting. The author has the audacity to end with a cliffhanger. Many people will not know the ending of the story.

Not a fan

I really did not enjoy this book. Some of it I think was due To the narration. I did not think either narrator portrayed their characters well. The female lead especially sounded like she was in her teens, and her voice as The male lead was really painful. She has a nice voice, but not for this type of book. I felt like the story was really disconnected, and too much detail that did not really pertain to the story. It is a cliffhanger. But, I will not be interested in reading the rest of the series.
