Rowan

I swore I'd never look twice at a football player again, especially after barely surviving the last one. But when my abusive ex gets traded to the team I work for, my past shows up to haunt me. Not a moment too soon, star player Landry Reynolds runs interference, announcing that he's my boyfriend. My emotions get the best of me, and I find myself playing along.

He's charming, bold, and way too convincing. The more time we spend together, the harder it is to remember that it’s all pretend. I might be falling for my fake boyfriend, but I can never have him for real. I could lose everything I've finally found, and that's scarier than having my heart crushed by the wide receiver.

Landry

I didn't mean to get involved. I just couldn't watch her shrink away from him a second longer—not after knowing what he put her through. So I did what I do best: I ran the play and told him she's mine. Now I can't stop thinking about how right that little white lie feels. How right she feels.

There's a good chance I was never faking.

This started as a way to protect her. I never imagined it'd be so hard keeping my hands off her. Then again, I've never been very good at following the rules.

I have read this book as an ebook but listening to the audio as a whole new dimension. Landry and Rowan. Rowan has joined the team as a trainer but she has a past that won't stay there. Landry is thrilled for his sister and best friend but he wants more. when he sees Rowan's past coming back to harass her he steps in. Can they find their own HEA or will others make sure it never happens? There are so many things I want to say but don't want to ruin it for others. This is one to make sure is in your library

So So Amazing

Kaylee Ryan delivers another engaging installment in the Nashville Rampage series with Run the Play, offering the same heartfelt, character‑driven storytelling I’ve come to expect from her work. The characters have real depth, and I appreciated how Rowan’s past and Landry’s protectiveness are explored with sensitivity and care. Their chemistry feels authentic, and the fake‑dating, workplace football setting makes for a compelling, well‑paced storyline.

From an audio perspective, though, I was disappointed that the narration team was the same as in book one. While consistent casting can help a series feel cohesive, I would have preferred different narrators between installments to give each couple their own distinct voice and keep the listening experience fresh. That choice pulled me out of the story at times and slightly dulled the impact of an otherwise very satisfying romance.

If you like contemporary sports romance with fake dating, found family, and a protective hero who falls first, Run the Play is absolutely worth reading—just be aware that the audio performance mirrors book one’s casting style.

Heartfelt and Undeniable Chemistry
